And, uh, I think Apple Insider needs to check those numbers, there’s no way they’re correct. In MS’s fiscal 08, WM sales fell short of MS’s goal by 10%.

Cbrines, didn’t iPhone sales fall by 36% last quarter? That is what Gartner numbers say?

According to apple insider, a fan site of apple, windows mobile has sold 50 million so far. Total sales all years through 07 were 25 million. What does that say about 09?

They have the money and the resources lets see how committed they are to a kick ass OS… Redmond can definitely make it happen

You mean just like they did with Vista. MS hasn’t kicked ass in years. I expect nothing but more mediocrity from Win Mobile 7.

Aleis: I’m not being an Apple/Blackberry/Symbian fanboy here. I’m not Anti-Windows – but they have a bad habit of holding on to old platforms for too long. Long after every other OS builder has built new platforms. And don’t even play the argument that their platform is so good, that they don’t need a new one. All they are doing is throwing a coat of paint on old walls.

I’ve installed a WinMo 6.5 rom on my HTC-6800. So far its ok. Not really good on memory management but the 64 megs has always been a problem with this phone. The Honeycomb program/settings menu is ok but it is still far from 100% touch friendly. A step in the right direction. Using build

Windows Mobile 6.5 == Windows Mobile 6.1 + SP4
Windows Mobile 6.1 == Windows Mobile 6 + SP3
Windows Mobile 6 == Windows Mobile 5 + SP2
Windows Mobile 5 == Windows CE 5 + SP1

Windows Mobile 7 == Windows CE 5.0 + SP5.

Moral of the story? Same old shit with some lipstick and a new name.

Personally i’m not expecting a new version of windows mobile.. Every smartphone using that os that i tried seem somehow “slow” and coming from microsoft new means expensier and with more underline processes, ergo, slower…
