AT&T pulls Quickfire handsets from shelves, floor

We got a couple tips this morning that AT&T has issued a notice to all store managers to stop selling AT&T Quickfires, and they’ve even been asked to pull the demo handsets from the floor. We heard the reason that AT&T is bailing on the phone is due to “quality issues”. Anyone going to miss the little bugger? Nah, we doubt it!
Thanks, to our tipsters who sent this in!

So let me understand this. they sell you a phone recall it and when you have problems the give you a REFURBISHED phone. What the hell!!! They also make you call a warranty center, what’s up with that. I can walk into a Verizon store and get warranty replacements and walk out with a working phone. Don’t have to wait for it to come in. AT&T is a JOKE
omg I know, I was suppose to get a new phone next week and I just found out its discontinued. it was an amazing phone, my friend has it and it works great.
I hope they bring a new version of it out.
I called the warranty center, they asked if I had problems. I told them no, I just wanted to buy a car charger. They told me they can’t do anything about it. Was on the phone atleast an hour trying to straighten this mess out. What a crock!!! The sales manager at the store told me to call them and they would replace with a Vu. It was right on the ATT website. Needless to say we called him back and he says he will take care of it.
i have this phone and i hate it!
i already had to exchange it for another quickfire a couple weeks ago because the screen froze. now that it has been pulled, im thinking about getting a different phone before my warranty ends
Oh, it works just fine for the first month or two.. then you’ll start seeing the issues. Read the user reviews.
And you don’t have until 2010 for a “trade in,” — you have 30 days from the purchase date to trade it in and get your money back or pick whatever phone you’d rather have and pay the difference. After 30 days you go through the warranty department and you will have to pick one out of whatever they’re choosing to offer you. After a year, you’re completely out of luck since your warranty is up.
I have a quickfire that i am getting rid of soon, but i have a friend who has one and she went through 4 of them and they all broke and finally they sent her a VU so i am thinking that is what they are sending out.
apparently, you care more about the money you can make than satisfied customers!!!! Seriously!
If u call in to exchange the phone u will get a NEW propel, matrix, or vu. By the way agents who work at AT&T stores the is no recall.
I just took mine to the AT&T store today because of how shitty they are and i was able to return it(after the 30-day return), but pick from 3 other phones which was the VU, Sidekick, or .. i dont remember the last one. They ship you the phone you pick to your address and you just ship the Quickfire back in that box. The only downfall is that if they find it was damaged(besides like scratches and nicks) like water-damaged they send it back and you must pay like $200-#250 because of it, and send the phone you picked out back.
i like my quickfire theres no probs at all…….well the camera cud b better and sumtimes wen im on for a long time it gets really hot
i called ATT today and they said they’re putting the phone back on the market in a few weeks and that they’re going to send me a new quickfire this week. we’ll see how that turns out!
Ali, please let me know if it the one they send you is better or just like the other ones. I really like it, its just the touchscreen is crap
i got the at&t qf pos back in dec. Geez oh flip! That thing sucked. The touch screen was almost impossible to use, I’d slide open the keyboard and navagate with keys and only used the screen when I HAD no other choice. The worst thing about any of at&t phones is there God awful “AT&T Bloatware”. Oooh how I hate that preloaded crap on my phone. I have a palm centro now, like it much better, so much easier to remove the unwanted items from it.
GREAT!! I just ordered the QF last friday and I am supposed to get it today or tomorrow… while it was being shipped I read the comments people had on it and they all were TERRIBLE! I asked my dad if we could send it back before we registered it or whatever, and he said “no, i read the cnet review and it seems like a fine phone”!!! so now I’m gonna be stuck with this piece of crap thing they call a phone for 2 years…JOY.
@ alyssa, doesn’t matter what people say and that was a few months ago. i ordered the phone last night and i’m really excited to get it, i’ll go by my judgement and no one else’s people have told me bad things about all kind’s of phones that i wanted and when i ended up getting them i LOVED them so it’s all about how it feels and works with YOU.
