T-Mobile unlimited voice pilot goes live
If you’re a long-time T-Mobile customer in San Fransisco, you may be interested to know the new unlimited voice plan options we reported this past week have indeed become a reality. Woo! The above screen shot comes from MyT-Mobile.com where users in SF should now be able to get the skinny on these pilot plans straight from the horse’s mouth. To quickly recap, T-Mobile customers who have been with the company for at least 22 months and have accounts in good standing now have access to these unlimited voice plans. The individual plan runs $49.99 for voice only and you can cherry-pick data and messaging bundles to suit your needs. Those looking to go all out will pony up a very competitive $84.97 each month; $49.99 for the voice plan, $24.99 for unlimited data and $9.99 for unlimited messaging (SMS/MMS/etc). BlackBerry users will have to spend an extra penny each month ($49.99/voice, $34.99 for BlackBerry data) and family plans start at $89.99 for two lines, with up to three additional lines for $39.99 each. In other words, these are pretty amazing deals. We’re still keeping this one filed under rumor however, as we’ve yet to confirm with our ninjas that T-Mobile does in fact plan to take these puppies national on March 1st – just 10 days after beginning the pilot.
If this is true I think it is very smart for T-Mobile doing this.
It is something I have said previous times on other sites that loyal customers should be rewarded and not get bent over for “new” customers.
The longer you stay with a provider the more “perks” you should receive.
Keeps churn down and customers happy.
What is the definition of a “San Francisco Bay Area customer” in this case? Is it (1) anyone living in the San Francisco Bay Area, or (2) anyone with a San Francisco Bay Area area code, regardless of where he/she lives?
Anyone with an SF based number or anyone that is within the local SF area can get it.
I also checked this on my roommates account (I handle all her mobile needs), it is true, and best part…NO CONTRACT EXTENTIONS!!!!

My company uses T-Mobile for corporate use so I’ve been able to test their network here in SoCal and they work great for the most part.
If they offered this to new subs, I’d ditch ATT in a heartbeat. I’m trying to save money and I feel I way overpay ATT for way too many dropped calls and network outages.
That is not her arm in the picture–that might be one of the worst photoshop jobs ever. Look–the arm that is being used to hug has a shirt that comes three quarters of the way down her arm–and the loose arm is sleeveless.
Heard from my t-mobile rep yesterday that all this is indeed true. It will go live for the rest of the nation on the 1st. On top of that, anyone that goes on the loyalty plan and adds additional lines to the account will receive a $135 bill credit to their account.

I wonder if this will be a temporary plan option. I have 18 months on my contract so far an I hear its for people with 22 or more months. It would be disappointing if it last only a few weeks or so. Oh well!

I think ALL cell phone carriers should adopt a “flat fee” price……the wire carriers have had it forever. Wireless carriers are screwing everyone on text messages, which cost almost nothing to send/receive. If they had an “all you can eat” price structure it would make it easier on everyone.
The offer is available to anyone who has a San Francisco Bay Area area code. It doesn’t matter where you live, and living in the area doesn’t qualify you if you have a non-area area code. For example, if you moved from Atlanta to SF 10 years ago and you still have your 770 or 404 number, you’re out of luck. But if you moved from SF to Atlanta 10 years ago, and still have your 415 or 510 number, you’re good.

So its 84.97 plus 34.99 for bb data a month which comes out to 119 .96 plus tax. Seems the deal breaker is to not have a blackberry. The deal is perfect for the G1!
49.99 unlimited plan + 34.99 unlimited data & messaging = 84.98. That would make unlimited T-mobile way cheaper than ATT, Verizon, and Sprint! Way to Go!
T-Mobile already has a flat rate/unlimited plan, this one is just at a lower price point. Read the T-Mobile website.
This plan will be launched nation wide on March 2, 2009. Allowing this plan for existing customers only, T-Mobile is stepping its game up to the number 1 wireless company in the U.S.

No, it is not possible for anyone switching to T-Mobile to get this plan. On the other hand, you can get added to a persons account and get this plan if they ar elgible for it and also get that $135 credit for porting ur number.
Not in NY yet – called TMo last night – they said that it’s being rolled out from West coast to East coast.
