Its legit. Bought one today. Ram upgrades on this one are a pain 4 screws and 3 antennas to remove. Has 802.11N Yayy.
Comes with Leopard and bootcamp. Runs XP just fine. You can dual boot or do parallels for mac. I love this upgrade. Does Mini DVI to DVI and that DVI adaptor cable comes with the unit. mini DVI to VGA is $20.
Also there are educational or Gov Employee discounts. $535 vs $599 etc.

old mac mini has been doing me well, waiting to see if this one is more user fit.. 5 usb’s is a great add but wat else really stands out about the new one? does it fit well to a tv, unlike the old one? can it be set up through optical light sound for sound system? i mean if it’s around the same price as the old one not a bad deal… i wanna see this up and running b4 i think it’s impressive.. is this still hdmi capable?

Keeping the discussion on point (Rather than letting my own ramblings and misstatements distract from it). The unbelievable element of this design is the 5 usb ports. Apple Corporation is never that generous with ports on their desktop Macintosh Computers (See what I did there?).

The 24″ iMacs come with (effectively) 2 usable ports. (One is occupied by the keyboard, and the keyboard’s extra ports are underpowered for most devices)

The air came with a laughable single port. (I mention it because it falls into the same smaller-cheaper subset as the mini)

The newest Mac Pros come with a half-decent 5 ports (4 once you account for the keyboard), but they’re the top-of-the-line power user systems. They always have a larger number of connectors than the rest of the lineup.

Given Apple Corporation’s usual logic, it seems completely incongruous that they’d put so many usb ports on their budget offering.

@Zeke – Because there’s no point in them using a completely separate connector for the mini when they’ve adopted a new standard connector for all their other power blocks.

Though, in fairness, they made a custom connector for it in the first place, rather than tapping their preexisting connectors at the time. So I suppose I’ve invalidated my own argument.

@Dave – Yes, definitely. We can’t use Mac and Apple interchangeably. After all dozens of companies produce Macintosh computers… Oh wait.

If this thing is to be believed, then that means Apple intends to release new Monitors w/ mini-displayport.

Otherwise, what monitor would you be expected to plug into this thing?

Why are the lights off? Why is it not plugged in and not booted? Why is it using last gen ports? No magsafe? No minisdisplay port? (Honestly, you know apple would slap proprietary ports on it.) Why would it include five USBs when Mac has ~always~ been allergic to putting generous numbers of connection ports on their hardware?

Sorry, but I work with Macs daily, and I just don’t buy it.

Hey that’s looks real well I still love my old mac mini. If the price is good when it gets realesed I will get provided it is affordable but if not I will keep my old Mac Mini. Well I would mind an extra usb port and a faster processor for my mac mini we shall wait and see until apple officially realese the new mac mini!!!
