Nintendo DSi US launch slated for April 5th, $169.99 MSRP
It’s been out in Japan since November 1st of last year, but this April 5th is as good a time as any for Nintendo to finally launch the DSi in the United States. With the MSRP set at $169.99, Nintendo is hoping that potential customers will be able to overlook the somewhat steep price as a small cost when compared to the advantages the DSi has over its predecessors, the DS and DS Lite. Equipped with a VGA camera on the rear of the system and one on the front which can be used in part to control certain aspects of supported games, the DSi is roughly 12% thinner than the DS Lite and features more spacious 3.25″ displays. A word of caution: If you plan to sell your existing DS/DS Lite and upgrade to the DSi you might want to reconsider if you plan on getting some more mileage out of your Game Boy Advance cartridges – there is no longer a slot for them. Man this SUCKS! I leave for a deployment to Peru on April 2nd and will be off the grid for 4 months…sucks that I won’t have this bad boy.

whats wrong with .3… what did u plan on doing with it.. i love sony im on my ps3 now.. but nintendo will implement things that will be used not just slapping gadgets on to beef up the spec sheet
Well, dude .3 is pretty horrible. And it’s not exactly what I plan on doing with it but, Nintendo does have plans for an online video chat program downoadable via their DSiWare store, I think that’s what it’s gonna be called, if not then correct me but it’s something similar to that. Anyway, I wasn’t bashing it, I think it’ll do fine.

I love my DS lite a bit more than my PSP 2000 and I’ve been wondering which I should upgrade. Yay DSi!
NO u guys got it wrong, one camera is .3 megapixel and one is 3.0 (outside 1) megapixels =D 3.0 is awesome!!
I got mine for $165
not a much difference though. DSi is lot better than DS lite except that it no more supports the older game boy games.
The Nintendo DSi’s a great thing, but Nintendo should bring out more games for it…
so when will there be a video chat dsiware and for how much
