HTC Magic. I tried to set up Wi-Fi but was unsure whether to leave a space between pairs of digits for the WEP. I decided not to and the result is that WiFi doesn’t work. I can’t find a way to change the WEP – if I input a new WEP (eg with spaces, hyphens, commas – I’ve trird them all) but there seems to be no way of saving the new WEP – and it doesn’t work anyway!\r\n
Can you help? (plain English for an old codger, please!)

i have a doubt about this htc, because i don’t know what is the process of the gps.
- The maps are already in the phone.
- You must download the maps from the net.
- OR we must pay to have them or activate the service.

@Cesar – Actually, Vodafone owns a large stake in Verizon Wireless (and nothing else Verizon), not the other way around.

Charger/headset jack is the same microusb slot on the bottom (3rd pic), which matches the G1. Also, hello? Bluetooth?

Actually Vodafone own a 45% share, making them a minority partner, of Verizon Wireless which is a joint venture of Verizon and Vodafone. Verizon itself is a separate company.

Vodafone uses GSM on all their system while Verizon Wireless uses CDMA. These are completely different technologies so this particular model isn’t coming to Verizon Wireless… ever.

Neil, Vodafone owns 45% of Verizon. Verizon owns some share of Vodafone _Italy_ only (I believe under 10%). While the two companies are comparable in terms of customers or revenues, as World-wide presence Vodafone is undoubtedly superior.

If you are wondering why no headphone socket that’s probably something to do with apple. I believe they told Google / HTC that they wouldn’t give them a licence. Apple own the patent. Also goes for multi-touch.

Other way around. Vodaphone owns Verizon. It’s technically a joint venture btw Vodaphone and Verizon(landline) Communications.

I still lust for HTC to make an Android version of the Touch HD.

Main thing is, as long as it works – You guys sure this is going to be the “G2″, I only ask because I thought that was the arrangement that Google has with T-Mobile with regards to the name.

This phone will never make it to Verizon. First, I guess you don’t understand what “exclusive” means. Also, if this phone is for Vodafone in Europe, then it’s going to run on UMTS-2100, which is not compatible with Verizon. There would have to be a completely different version of the phone. Also Verizon loves to trash-talk Android. And they despise phones with WiFi and GPS unless it’s locked down tight so they can make you pay extra for it.

I hope Tmobile US doesnt even cough on this phone let only supply it. How do you go from keyboard to keyboard less. Plus still no head phone jack and its not even sexy. Vodafone can have this. Either give Tmobile the Photoshop “G2″ or put android on the Touch Pro2.
