Acer announces Tempo line of smartphones: X960, F900, M900 and DX900

I hear these phones have G & L sensors. What are they and what do they do?

@ Zach Epstein: you seem to have mixed up the specs of F900 with the ones of the dual-SIM DX900 :) Oh, and the only Acer smartphone to have a 5MP camera is M900.

@ Joe the Plumber: G-sensor means accelerometer.

I guess these are mobile phones if you have a bag stow them in.

where is the second physical keyboard? I only see one!

I was hoping to see that funky 90 degree flip out qwerty that’s been supposedly photographed.

If it were me I’d rather spend my money on an HTC handset, but I’m sure these Acer devices will find some takers.

@Ilinca Thanks. Specs are right from the site though. If the above is incorrect – and it certainly looks like it is – Acer dropped the ball.

I think HTC needs a little competition. They’ve been a little lax lately. For instance, a lot of the latest HTC devices have not included the 850 Mhz band for US3G. Take the M900 and put quad band 3G Data (850, 1700, 1900, and 2100) and you’d really have a phone.

bit off topic, but is htc touchscreen similar to bb, like where you can actually “push” it?

This posting and some of the responses seem harsh. Is it because of the rumoured lack of upgrade to 6.5 option? The specs seem good, especially the M900 which would seem to beat out the Touch Pro 2 on paper. And remember these are ETEN devices at heart, and I have always been impressed with the tweaks that they made to the standard WM interface.

I’ve seen specs of all sorts for these things; looks like Acer can’t quite get its info straight. That said, the M900 has pretty similar specs to the HTC Touch Pro 2 that was just announced: big WVGA screen, sliding QWERTY (granted no tilt up screen), etc. The speakerphone features of the Touch Pro 2 seemed gimmicky to me more than anything. That said I would probably go for the HTC over the Acer but the big-screen phones at least don’t seem to “have specs 18 to 24 months old.”

Let’s count: The Fuze, and……. yaaaaa.

So yes, kudos to Acer to actually not hate Canadians, unlike every single other attendance in MWC (Have you seen a phone aside from these 4 in MWC this year that actually supports NAM3G? I certainly didn’t.)
