Verizon Wireless to offer new “Friends & Family” feature
Alltel customers coming over to Verizon Wireless can breath a sigh of relief as it appears Big Red will be adding a new My Circle-like feature to its calling plans. The new Friends & Family feature will be available starting February 15th and allows you to add 5 or 10 numbers to a Friends & Family calling group. Calls to and from this Friends & Family calling group will not count against your plan minutes. To be eligible for this feature, you must have either a Nationwide Single Line plan with 900 or more Anytime Minutes (minimum $59.99/month) or a Nationwide Family Share Plan with 1,400 or more Anytime Minutes (minimum $89.99 for 2 lines/month). An individual line is able to add five contacts to its Friends & Family calling group while a Family Share line is able to add 10 contacts that are shared among plan members.
It is somewhat disappointing that these features are added to the higher minutes and higher priced calling plans and not the basement 450 minutes Nationwide Single plan or the 700 minutes Family Share plan. Also disappointing is the fact that the 10 numbers in the Friends & Family calling group are shared among plan members and not allocated as 5 to 10 numbers per line. Regardless, this is a nice addition for current customers who already subscribe to the eligible plans and should also help those Alltel customers who were disappointed to lose the benefits of their My Circle plans. Best of all, this additional feature is free!

What are all u ALLTEL CUSTOMERS TALKING ABOUT. DO ur research. I have new that verizon bought alltel from the start back in June. COME ON HERE u JUST GOT TO ADD 67-69 MILLION for free calling. It takes time to get things changed over and decide what to do with plans etc. U guys got to update ur plans for 2 more yrs if u wanted to and got all features in case this didn’t happen. BUt one reason the don’t offer on less plans ids most of them don’t use there mins to beig with and for more like goN to 10 or 20 is that Verizon has the $99 unlimited plan. which is only around a yr old now. u give the 79$ plan 20 free #’s and thee goes the 99$ plan for most out the door. yes this is very good for both in my opinion as alltel customers were lookN elsewhere . U didn’t think they could tell that all of them were goN in to upgrade the last 3 months. This is a very good mergerer.except the should have bought them 2 yrs ago the first time they looked into it and saved 2 million in the process. As for pricing goes to talk on cell is not goN up its goN down but from here.
I am glad this is finally all done now let’s see if blue follows and if Sprint will make their program public, still don’t see a good reason for this not to be on plans $50 and up
Sprint gave me 3 #’s any network when the new plans came out at no extra charge and Sprint To Home, I want to see this advertised and they could make it 7 #’s to play off the 7pm n/w’s

What about those Alltel subs on fam plans with 10 or 20 #’s for each line that get those text and messages for free
Alltel just sweetened the pot by making it 10, 15 and 25 #’s at no extra charge but only for divested markets
