Samsung officially delays first Android phone until the 2nd half of the year
Hold the presses and pull out the kleenex, folks — this one is a definite tear jerker. Samsung has stepped up and made a statement regarding the status of its first promised Android handset and things aren’t looking good. According to the company’s head of marketing, Samsung is delaying the release of its Android phone until the second half of the year. The company had been expected to launch an Android-based device at the upcoming MWC, but this news has certainly put a damper on whatever excitement may have been lingering. Truth be told, this is probably a good move on Sammy’s part as there are still a TON of kinks to be worked out of Android before it’s truly ready for mass adoption. As such, it’s probably smart to sit back and wait as other companies slowly fall in line to be guinea pigs for the cause.
Sucks for Sprint, t mo already has thier’s wonder if the HTC’s will be out before this for the aforementioned

Making it months between the phones I’m looking at to have an actual head to head, I’m still not getting the Instinct in anticipation of this.

There are couple more shows for them to show this off, it’s known that t mo and Sprint are getting the Samsung version of a touchscreen Android but is any other carrier getting it? Are there any other iterations forthcoming?
E21P, the delays don’t bother me because I want it done right. When the delays come it should make sure any bugs don’t come for a long time

The 1st device is supposed to be full touchscreen in the vein of the Omnia/Instinct, that’s why I asked if anybody knew of more than that. I know people want more than the G1 and don’t think a bootleg download on the current offerings
The version you can run on the Vogue, while extremely well done, is ironically making me less and less excited about Android. There’s definitely potential, but I’m not sure there’s really all that much to differentiate it in the grand scheme.
