Visual Voicemail for BlackBerry shows up in AT&T OLAM system

For the record, we’ve been aware of this one for quite a while, but it looks like Visual Voicemail for Blackberry is coming on the very near horizon for current AT&T Blackberry customers. An eagle-eyed tipster alerted us to the presence of a new feature option in the account management system that allows current ‘Berry users to add Visual Voicemail to their account. The system doesn’t allow you to complete the request, returning an error message if you attempt to add it, but it’s a solid indicator that the carrier is preparing for its release. Even better is the current price point in the OLAM system: $0.00. Free Visual Voicemail doesn’t sound so bad now, does it? We’re still not sure when AT&T plans to make this thing fully official, but any day now is a pretty good bet. And we’re also not sure on that free pricing, but we’ll see!
Thanks, Mjkamdar!

Tried, can’t add to either of my lines. Get F902 error when I click submit. Just AT&T toying with my emotions again.
Tried adding to my Bold that has the leaked .234 software on it. I figured if they allow me to add it, I would be able to use it since I already have software that is capable of visual voicemail. Site gave the following error message:
Unfortunately, your feature change failed. Please review the error message below for steps to resolve your problem.
F902: We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to add your feature at this time. Please call Customer Service at 1-800-331-0500.
Hopefully this will change very soon.
I got the same error also.

Iphone already does visual voice mail… blackberry = noob
Is this only for the Bold? Not showing up for my wife’s old Curve 8310.
This doesn’t show up for my bold or my 8110
If you like/think you want VVM, install youmail for your blackberry. I had the iphone and while VVM is a nice feature, Youmail provides it and much more for free. All VMs are saved and stored as emails, you can send VM to people via SMS or email. It blows VVM away, kind of like how the worst BB is better than the best iPhone.
what is visual voicemail ?
Visual Voicemail is a notification system that shows you (visual) voicemail notifications, and who left the message. Similar to SMS/MMS or E-mail notifications.
Do you think they’ll charge for BB visual voicemail since it’s not an extra fee for the iPhone?
Thanks for dropping this in. I was hoping someone would mention this. Youmail’s offering is by far the most impressive for Blackberry. Don’t waste your money on the telco’s $hitty service.
Visit YouMail directly at http://www.youmail.com!
Not to mention, the telcos limit the number of days you can store VM mssgs. Not so with YouMail, plus with Youmail you get the cool feature of the voicemail greeting greeting your caller by name and saying that you (insert your name) are unavailable. My callers seem to get a kick out of it, especially my 81 year old Dad who wondered how the hell the woman knew it was him calling.
i spent 40 mins on the phone with att customer care, while she was calling bb support, att technical support spoke to her managers and supervisors who knew nothing and shows up on there system they just cant do anything with it right now, as far as the att rep told it wont be live till sometime next wk just to all bb users know have to wait again
i just spoke to an ATT CS rep and her supervisor. they both have no idea why it is on the site, and can’t even access it on their end.
Some WM love some time?
There is cool beta app for blackberry from PhoneTag that transcribes the messages and sends to to the app or via email/sms. Callwave does something much like it.
That’s why I love AT&T. They don’t try to bleed their customers for money like Verizon does. A feature like that seems natural to be a free service ’cause it is so convenient unlike the traditional way of accessing voicemail messages.
Thanks AT&T.
I logged in to att to show this feature to a friend and now its not there.
According to my conversation with ATT they said this is something that will definitely be used in the future but don’t know when. They’re supposedly waiting for RIM to release software updates to support BVVM. But only time will tell.
@Maikel: I have AT*T so I can say this – have you noticed the prices for everything else are astronomical compared to TMo and Verizon?
Voice plans, txt messaging, internet… Everythings higher…
Duh!
And now you can show all those envious 4th Graders you have a iphone!
Wait so do they? And what’s that? They better at working it because the OS recognizes their tiny fingers in comparison to your chubby fingers?
Yes remember an iphone is a toy, not a smart phone….
Ill give you TMo is cheaper but verizon are you kidding there prices are insane. There not waiting on rim the visual voice mail is already out. When you open the app is say that provisioning is unsuccessful contact your provider.
You’ll see BVVM when ATT rolls out .226. ATT still has .167 as their OS of choice.
I hope it stays free. I wouldn’t mind rockin’ some visual vm on my Bold but I’m definitely not going to pay for it.
noticed today on by ATT BB bold that voicemail notifications are also rolling in as SMS text notifcations in addition to the little voice mail icon on the main screen. anyone seeing this change today?
