AT&T does this through radio shack on netbooks… Not from the carrier directly yet, but its ok David T, you can still hate on US carriers, your probably a verizon customer…

Here in the US because of our Greedy Carriers we are likely to see this maybe in 11 years.

I’ve never heard of a concept like this. I think it’ll do pretty good! Well, like with everything, there are a couple of variables, but nonetheless is something that has a good chance of doing well.
