Verizon Wireless BlackBerry BOGO sale, buy one get one free!

We just got a heads up that tomorrow, Verizon Wireless will start a BlackBerry BOGO sale. What’s BOGO mean? Buy One Get One (free)! Here’s the breakdown on how this will work, when you’ll be able to do it, and what’s included (yes, the BlackBerry Storm is even in here as well):
- The promotion runs from tomorrow, February 6th, until March 31st.
- Buy any BlackBerry Verizon offers and get another one for free (equal or lesser value).
- There is no mail in debit card necessary when purchasing the Storm, for the Curve 8330 and 8830, you’ll still get a $70 debit card back from the purchase of the first device.
- Each device requires a two-year activation with corresponding data plan (BlackBerry data plan).
Those look to be the rules and regulations (nothing insane), and here’s the exact pricing for devices:
- BlackBerry Storm, $199.99, no debit card on either first or second Storm
- BlackBerry Curve 8330, $79.99 after a $70 debit card (after Valentine’s Day, it jumps to $99.99)
- BlackBerry 8830 Global, $99.99 after $70 debit card
- BlackBerrry Pearl 8130, $19.99 after $100 debit card
- Palm Centro, $49.99 after a $70 debit card (yes, the Centro is on here as well)
- Samsung Alias, $49.99 after a $50 debit card (yes, the Samsung Alias is on here as well)
So there you have it! Buy a BlackBerry on Verizon, any BlackBerry, and get one free! We can see Verizon pumping out more BlackBerrys than the world’s most famous pie shop. This is going to be good. Anyone out there going to be taking advantage of this?
P.S. We’ve also found out that the target date for the next BlackBerry Storm OS update on Verizon is March 31st. Yeah… exactly.

BG, is it worth jumping in on one of the best phone VZW has, even though it’s shoddy? Do you anything about an upcoming Niagara on it’s way soon to VZW?
For the record, I’m working with a phone where the rectangular metal surrounding the pins ,where the charger plugs into, falls out…so, i’m in dire need of a phone…
It’s a sad state of affairs…
Funny how there is no BOGO for iphones …. perhaps VZ is having to boost BB storm sales to keep exclusivity???????
Hey backbeat the guy is saying that the blackberry data package is 30 and a two year contract is 24 months, so multiply 30 times 24 and you get 720. So that is 720 more you are spending over those two years compared to a regular voice plan. So that’s where he got those numbers front
^True. But every carrier’s BIS plan is $30/mo. Unless you simply were not going to have data access on a data-centric phone (which doesn’t make good sense), it’s no worse than any other carrier.
Will they buy me out of my contract with tmobile if i sign up as a new customer?
So I just cancled sprint today and got a blackberry, go to a friends house and find out at the verizon store they go to there are signs all over the place…so they never offered me this deal, they also only signed me to a one year contract. If I can get the blackberry with out having my girl on my account that would be great
They’re “giving them away” if one signs a new two year agreement.
Storm has quad band GSM which includes 850 and 1900 (obstensibly for South America though one could unlock it for the U.S.) so yeah it’s possible.
The Canadien carriers do three year contracts right now.
Damn!
@Azeron: There is no 2-Yr contract requirement for the BOGO. One could even buy the phone(s) outright at $499/ea, if you wanted to.
If you say so, backbeat. I went to the website and I could not select a one year contract.
^Interesting. I get the pulldown menu for 2-Yr / 1-Yr / Month-to-Month service.
Okay, backbeat I figured it out. When I changed from two year pricing to month-to month it gave no discount on the second phone. Then I tried one year pricing…$269.99 per phone. So…yes I would say they have to both be on two year pricing.
^Verizon has updated the site since yesterday. At that time, when selecting less than 2-Yr pricing, the discounted 2nd phone was still showing on the lower half of the screen. It’s now gone. I’m sure some got their orders placed like that.
THIS WORKS! I WENT TO THE STORE YESTERDAY
If ur mid contract u should be elgible for the discounted price.
12mths = discount
18mths = new every two
where these offer sale is taking place in india ? , i would like to take a piece so kindly send me the address of hyderabad- andhrapradesh
thanking u
No need to do that. Any customer who purchased a storm since the day it launched is eligible to get a second storm free on a new line of service or eligible upgrade.
Does this offer only apply to new customers?
Self admitted rookie but the tidbit about “P.S. We’ve also found out that the target date for the next BlackBerry Storm OS update on Verizon is March 31st. Yeah… exactly.”
Do you mean an entirely new BB Storm or just an uupdated one? If just an updated one, wouldn’t I be able to go to Verizon after the OS is released just to get my software updated?
@takeover
yes u can go to the store and get the upgrade for free, usually it has to be a corporate store though.
hahahaha
man, SOMEONE didn’t have their coffee this morning!
So, I want a Storm. The new OS set to release on March 31st or whatever, this is another BB and not another Storm version correct? Just reading up. If it’s another Storm, I must wait. Otherwise might as well get it now. I don’t need two though, how about 1/2 off for me, I don’t want two!!
What is being left out as I found out when I attempted to purchase the Storm is that in order for you to get the first one for $199.99 and second one for “FREE” is that you “have to” have two (2) lines on your account that are elegible for an upgrade or you can add an additional line for $9.99 a month and pay for activation on both lines and contract for 2 years. One of my lines is due for an upgrade but they would only give me one Storm because the other line is not up for upgrade. They told me I could buy another Storm at full price or add a third line to my account to get the second phone for free.
