Sprint unveils new customer relations plan

We, along with just about everyone else out there, have spent our fair share of time bashing Sprint. Despite its numerous flaws, however, the beleaguered carrier has been taking a stab at making amends as of late. The most recent addition to their stable of appeasement tools is the Sprint Premier program. Designed to reward loyal customers, the program provides the following benefits:

  • Early Upgrades: After only one year customers can receive our new customer price on a new handset. That’s almost a year sooner than other customers. For accounts sharing minutes, the early upgrade applies to the primary line. A new two-year agreement is required.
  • “Just Because” Perks: Spontaneous special offers for trips, tickets to shows and sporting events — just to say thanks.
  • Anniversary Rewards: Customers celebrate their annual Sprint anniversary with a special gift such as free ring tones or free minutes.
  • First to Know/First to Buy: Longstanding customers get an exclusive first peek at new products and services such as the upcoming Palm Pre™, and then are among the first with opportunities to purchase when they become available.
  • Accessory Discounts: A once-a-year discount on accessories at participating Sprint stores.
  • Courtesy Plan Check: For customers who haven’t changed their plan in six months, Sprint will notify them for a “Plan Check” to make sure they are getting the most value out of their device.

Aw…”Just Because” perks? How sweet. In all seriousness, though, this is pretty good, especially considering Verizon’s recent move towards further restriction of customer retention perks. To qualify for Sprint Premier, a customer must either have been with the carrier for a mind numbing 10 years, or have an average individual plan revenue of $69.99 or family plan revenue of $99.99 for three consecutive months. Easy as pie. In such a tense economic climate, it’s nice to see a company making amends, rather than alienating, its customer base.

@DonLouie who said: “Moving along, how many of you are going to repeat this knowledge? Some grass roots campaigning, they especially need to have reps, in store and on the phone promoting”

^And -there- you have it, friends. The intent of DonLouie’s trolling existance. Online whisper-campaigning for its self-serving sake.

    Fuck you.

And there you have it, another attempt to change the subject, insult and ridicule those who’ve made thier choice, enjoy the savings/services and extoll these feelings. You can’t be that stupid to think what you do is righteous and not assholish

No reflective surfaces where you live?

So instead of reading, retain and comprehending the whole post you highlight the comment on your behavior, priceless. Where are the moderators, if somebody is stopping dialog w/insults, profane language, inuendo, lies and conjecture isn’t that cause for banning. This one lonely person, to follow Sprint/Palm post on two sites and consistently berate anything related and any supporters. If you follow this with that lame cause and effect crap, I’ll know you have no other reason that dislike for both companies because you regularly one of the 1st posters before any other Sprint rhetoric is said and nothing good is posted them either

Seeing how they’ve extended the ETF waiver, maybe they’ll be betting this will entice them to stay

^Sprint’s unilateral breach of contract is what it is. There is -no- extension period outside of either a personal or corporate contract term. Sprint is only attempting to mitigate the damage and you are only serving as an apologist-stooge on their behalf.

I’m looking forward to having 2, sometimes 3 upgrades a year w/my fam plan, especially w/the “you know what coming”

Some people even get whole fam accounts flagged as Premier, probably a combination of high MRC, on time payments and long time customer, where all of them can upgrade yearly. I was told this last month and was re-confirmed today. Still not better than getting extra money off the promotional price every one and three quarter year. I still think you ought to make a big deal about it

All in all this is a very good loyalty program, a little more can be done but nothing’s perfect and you can’t please everybody. I, for one am all for this and see nothing wrong with saying so, kick rocks if you have other opinions because this one is mine

This is a huge step in right direction as far as a customer friendly atmosphere, it needs to go back to 5 years like the brochure I got a few months back.

To piggyback off Roger A more, the brochure that I picked up a while back should be in store and kiosk/3rd party retailers and there should be a link to this on the this site and all the links they have to buy.

I have been a Sprint customer with two lines for 10 years the last two years of that have had three lines. We pay a lot of money each month but are constantly having to ask why as long time customers we have to repeatedly ask for white glove treatment. Each time we have changed our plan (and paid more) they mess up stuff that takes me months to fix. We stay with them only because the plan we have would be more expensive elsewhere. I have a crappy phone which I am stuck with until I am at 22 months and then I will have to fight tooth and nail to get the rebate that anyone off the street would get by just becoming a new customer. Then I read this premier plan that they hype but it is only on the primary line (I am the secondary line, I am the one that uses my phone all the time and takes care of everything that we have to fight for) but I will have to wait as always for the full two years to get a new phone (this time I will pick my own phone and not take someone’s word that the phone they suggest is good, that is how I got stuck with the crappy phone I have now). The only reason I am still with them is the price and the hassle of trying to take my number with me elsewhere (when you have multiple lines, it is not as easy as they make it sound). It is better to stay with the bad you know (and can get stuff resolved with if you spend enough time and energy) then see if the grass is actually greener somewhere else and pay more. Pretty crappy situation, but I am not impressed with this new program. They are not doing enough for their long time customers. Plus you only get invited if you have not raised any ruckus with them and since every time I have an issue I call and call and call until it is resolved, guess I will not be on the invite list no matter how long I have been with them and no matter how much I pay.
