One of Acer’s Mobile World Congress’ handsets gets pictured
So, here’s the deal… One of our infamous ninjas just sent us a shot of an unreleased and unseen Acer handset. They told us it would be announced by Acer at MWC in a couple weeks, and that it is “pretty awkward.” We agreed. For one, it has a swivel keypad as evidenced by the photo they sent, it also has a touch screen but our ninja wasn’t sure if it ran Windows Mobile or Android. No hard specs, but we’d imagine a nice CPU, decent camera, 3G, GPS, and the like. Oh, and one more thing: they also said Acer had an iPhone competitor that… looked like an iPhone. Hard to imagine, right? Larger shot is after the breakage!
Thanks, Daddy G.!

awkward seems to be the right choice of words here
awkward but different, its nice to see something new in touch screen phones
I need to know who put my new Acer phone in jello, or I’m gonna lose my freakin’ mind.
I’d guess maybe android, as there is no “Start” key on the keyboard, nor is there an “OK” key…
It is only a maybe b/c yes, manufacturers have been doing away with those keys. But besides HTC, I don’t think we’ve seen them go away on newer devices with keyboards.
It does look weird, but aren’t we all tired of iPhone clones??
And I would have to say it’s Android.
I see a little bubble key that can either be search or IM and if it’s search it can be for the search widget, or if it’s IM it can be for Google Talk??
ummm… how does that work? the pivot point is in the middle of the qwerty…
Uh I have the feeling we are looking at two separate devices here. The touch screen iPhone competitor, and the flip open qwerty with the screen not in the picture.
Or maybe a touch screen iPhone competitor with a keyboard dock?
weird and cool! please keep google away from it.
OK button.
Android doesn’t use an OK button.
I need to understand why do all of these ‘ninja’ pictures come blurred? Are they taking pics with an iPhone?
Are acer phones the same quality as the laptops? If so get ready for your screen to go out in a month
Thats definetly two separate devices. Also there is an “ok” key on the keyboard. BGR why do you doctor these photos?
Looks to me like the keyboard is detachable and works like a docking station
Can you say Photoshop? Lousy job too…
