Apple tablet rumors revived, new patent uncovered
Rumors of Apple’s entrance into the world of tablets were brought back into sight this morning as a recent Apple patent revealed the possible design for an upcoming tablet offering from Cupertino. You’ll likely recall rumors that flew around in late December, originating from three separate TechCrunch “sources close to Apple”, stating that Apple was working on a larger-scale iPod Touch-like device slated for a Fall 2009 release. While the patent illustrations don’t necessarily depict a bulked up iPod Touch as described by TechCrunch, they certainly do appear to feature a touchscreen computer with no physical keyboard in sight. A few of the illustrations in Apple’s patent application show a bottom plate on the device that appears to have lines very uncharacteristic of Apple’s current crop. As such, we’re lead to believe this device, if it ever sees the light of day, may possibly be branded entirely separately from Apple’s current offerings (as opposed to being dubbed, say, MacBook Touch). Well, it’s no ModBook Pro but it’ll certainly turn heads and have digital designers dying to break out their credit cards.

Just when I thought tablets were out.
“…and have digital designers dying to break out their credit cards.”
Why couldn’t it be, “…and have digital designers dying to break out their wallets.”?
It’s this type of “buy now, pay later” mentality which has contributed (notice I didn’t say “caused”) to our current economic situation.
Another day, another Apple Tablet ^H^H^H^H iPhone Nano ^H^H^^H^H^H Blu-Ray on a Mac ^H^H^H^H^H^H Mac Mini Refresh rumor.
Let’s get something straight – It’s going to happen, maybe a short time before never! If it does happen, it will probably be after tablets lost their appeal and we’re all using virtual reality or cortical implants in which Jobs Borg Corpse will say “Oh, that stuff is just a bag a hurt, like Blu-Ray, Copy/Paste and MMS!”
For Fuck’s Sake!
Reading the patent, Fig. 212 is only an EFI shield. Almost looks like some sort of click-screen implementation!
maybe it’s a high-tech toaster
Apple is getting into the Retail Appliances market. This is a toaster over to bake Apple pies and all your other Apple-based garbage.
it looks like a fancy sifting tray an archaeologist would use to find King Tut’s molar in a pile of sand.
Could this be the mysterious iPhone 2,1?
I don’t think its any of those. It looks more like a wireless touchpad. Like in the new macbook only can be used with any computer. Bluetooth maybe?……
I’m a long time computer user, which includes PC’s, Apples, Model 100 Radio shack, and many others, before apple and the standard PC came to be.
I’ve watched the industry develop over the decades (I’m 65), and I must say I’m pretty disgusted with Microsoft, with Apple, and all the Corporate Cyborgs in general.
What is a Cyborg? You know what it is: an entity, with all the legal rights of a person, but which doesn’t need food, water, air.
A Cyborg just needs money. And it thinks it has to continue to grow. which they have, they are huge. they cover the planet. they have taken over the planet.
It’s a Cyborg because it is part machine, part human. (Humans are enslaved by it, and don’t know it.)
They don’t produce products we need, they produce and brain wash us into buying what they produce.
They produce products that they think will allow them to grow.
They don’t care if it’s good for us.
They have immediate and constant access to ways to brain wash us. They are masters of deception.
So, many times, Apple Computer, Microsoft have missed the mark of what is needed.
I am disgusted!
Personally, I need a UMPC.
Made by Apple, or by any one of those Cyborgs.
Yes, I do use products made by Cyborgs, I try to take advantage of them whenever I can.
Just what I NEED. Not everything they try to brainwash me into buying.
