Motorola i465, iDEN with a QWERTY keyboard

Motorola i465 iDEN

If you are a texting fiend on an iDEN carrier, Motorola has an upcoming phone that will provide relief for your tired T9 typing fingers. Sometime in 2009 Motorola is expected to release the i465, an iDEN handset with a full front facing QWERTY keyboard. The inclusion of a QWERTY keyboard gives the candybar phone a slight bulge at the bottom but the ease of typing presumably outweighs any un-attractiveness this extra girth provides. The i465 runs a plain jane feature phone OS with Bluetooth 2.0 and a VGA camera. The specific release date, specs, pricing and potential carriers are still unknown but Sprint looks to be preparing to make a run with Boost this year so don’t be surprised if the i465 pops up.

How tiny is that screen?! Looks like a postage stamp. A small screen on a mobile designed for messaging = FAIL. Just a stupid design decision.

That has to be one of the ugliest phones I have ever laid eyes on. Motorola is still in business? Shocking, truly shocking.

How is Motorola still producing this type of cr@p – it is no wonder they’re struggling for market share.

What happen to the Motorola that was always ahead of the curve (mpx300, mpx220, Q, etc)?

OOh its ugly. Shoot, its that old IDEN crap…Oh man, no contract, unlimited service for 50 smackers a month….just beat out my T-Mobile and Verison plans. Coverage dosent drop out as much as the pink T and is almost exactly consisitant with my Verison phone. I think Sprint hit the proverbial gold mine on this. Two or more years now with a network that it looked as though they would have to drop….now everyone I know is clamoring for that great 50 dollar service. Awesome..and in an economic decline too. Go whoever was the mastermind behind this coup.

I just bought one. Nice phone, super fast browsing which surprised me coming from Boost.
My main problem,s wioth it is, there is no facebook app or popular IM chat clients.
I am really hoping there will be software updates to include them. Weak camera, but I like the keyboard

I just had to spend a month with mom in hospital so no access to internet except on phone. For those disappointed about no facebook, im chat etc, I downloaded opera mini to my phone before I left. It isn’t as fancy as an iphone but it is not that technology but I could use facebook and YIM when I needed it. Wouldn’t want to do that everyday but it is better than nothing. Could also use hopstop when I was in NYC.
