Order your T-Mobile Curve 8900 early and you may get to unbox it early, too

Our inbox is full of tips lately regarding customers who have succeeded in ordering and receiving BlackBerry Curve 8900s from T-Mobile and now we have an unboxing video thanks to one of our tipsters. If you’ve been itching for one of these and it’s time to upgrade, you might be able to get one before the February 11 release date if you act now. We know that sometimes things just can’t come soon enough – especially if you’ve braved the release of the G1 or you’re a serious BlackBerry addict. As is often the case, we think it may be a question of who you spoke to in the telesales department. It looks like it comes with your run-of-the-mill accessories such as the data cable, travel charger, earbuds and a leather pouch (no holster?!).     Maybe it wasn’t supposed to be available, but I am a regular account, SmartAccess at that, with the cheapest voice plan + BlackBerry, and UPS is shipping something to me by Thursday… I wouldn’t be surprised if this was an error that they have corrected, but some of us have lucked out :)

    I don’t have a business account I was upgraded, Mine comes tomorow Yeah! Confirmed I paid $320 I don’t know if it is a good price cause the rep told me the price is $449.99 – $120. with my upgrade credit I pay $320. New accounts ar going for $199. I fought to get $199 as a new account as I extended my contract 2 more years but it did not work. I might return it and then get a new account but I have to wait o Feb.11 or keep this one for $320

    Have mine in hand. Ordered on Friday, got it today. Making a UMA call as I type this. I’m loving this phone! It feels a lot nicer in your hand when making a phone call. Also feels lighter than my 8320.

    Upgraded the other line on the family account last night and tried for a fourth time (thought I might have better luck if the CSR was in the upgrade screen), and still no joy. I give up. I just hope that when 2/11 rolls round they will have plenty in stick and it won’t be on back order…if so, i’ll blame all the people on here for depleting stock before it even gets released!

    I have called about six times trying everything suggested here. All reps told me no, not until 2?11. I even had some tell me everyone on here is lying, and had a couple tell me they are sending some out early in certain areas because they are test markets and want to know how the phone works on their network, that seems somewhat believable. I even said I was going to cancel my contract and talked to the account specialists and she said she couldn’t do it, she even tried to give me a good offer on the G1 or the curve 8320 just so I would say, but said it was impossible to sell it to me early because the system wont let them do it. So either,, all these people on here are lying, T-mobile is lying, or everyone here who has ordered early is a business customer? I guess Ill wait until the 11th.

    I just got off the phone with customer care. I successfully ordered the 8900 by following the steps above – call 611, say you want to upgrade, say Blackberry.

    $199 with a 2 year contract extension, $249 with a 1 year extension. I got the 1 year. The phone is $349 and they sent a $100 mail in rebate.

    Well, I too thought that everyone on here must be lying. The first time I called the rep acted like he was going to do it, then he checked with his supervisor and was told he couldn’t. The second time I called the lady started off by telling me that she couldn’t do it until the 11th. I then went into a store and they told me that they couldn’t do it and to just keep trying to call. The third call apparently worked and I received my phone today. I did everything that was posted here – you just have to get someone that is willing to do it for you. So, if you have been unsuccessful so far, keep trying until you get someone that will do it.

    The T-Mo reps are lying, followed instructions, with an account that is OOC. Had a rep that did it without any hesitation. only thing was that i had to add the blackberry plan for 24.99. Not sure how the rebate affects the cancellation of the blackberry plan. hopefully i get to read the fine print on the rebate

    I tried what everyobe had said and im not on a business plan, i got rejected on the first call but ont he second call i had a lady and i started a nice convo with her and BE Polite.. after that i ask her if i could get a upgrade and she said yes..she made me waited 2mins while she was filling the forms out etc etc.. after that she told me the price n how i would like to pay for it.. pay for it and i got the order now and expecting to get it on 2/4 =]

    I left and switched over to AT&T for an iPhone, same price as the new curve and compared to my old curve is much better, plus I am saving 20 bucks a month now. I told them I was going to switch over if they wouldn’t sell because I need the phone for work and school, and they did not seem to care. Also the bold is much better, it’s a little thicker but the keys are just as easy to type on when you get use to them, plus it has 3g which does make a huge difference and a bigger screen. Go AT&T I am a total convert now!

    Man, I wish I’d seen this weeks ago! My Pearl has had a nightmare of problems the last couple of weeks and I’ve been counting the days until the official release. But now, I just called and got the 8900 easily (same deal as others mentioned, $299.99 with $100 MIR, even though my last upgrade was less than a year ago).

    I was so excited when i saw the new BB. Sadly i got the G1 as a b-day gift and i hate it soooo much.. its a stupid phone. i got it oct.31, would i be eligible to get the BB curve 8900?
    if so are they going to charge me an arm and leg?

    Is it possible to trick the Tmo reps? i have insurance,so cant i call them and say i lost it or it was stolen? THey send me a new one and i sell it and with that money i buy the curve??

    i have mine but i dont like the fact that tmobile stepped their game up a little. i never paid for im as a text on the curve. aim wasnt part on the curve i had to add the app.

    now aim is part of the bb im apps. and i have pay for.. does anyone know away around this?

    bah. had i seen this a week ago, i’d have gone for it. but seeing as if i ordered it now, it wouldn’t show till wednsday (or, knowing my luck with ups, thrusday or friday) i’ll just swing by a local tmo store on the 11th and pick it up then.

    i am furious right now!!!! i called on the 12th and ordered the 8900 because they said it was in stock. now a week later. it still hasent showed up so i called and they say its on backorder and will ship as soon as they recieve it and they dont know when it will go off backorder…..GOODLUCK
