Order your T-Mobile Curve 8900 early and you may get to unbox it early, too

Our inbox is full of tips lately regarding customers who have succeeded in ordering and receiving BlackBerry Curve 8900s from T-Mobile and now we have an unboxing video thanks to one of our tipsters. If you’ve been itching for one of these and it’s time to upgrade, you might be able to get one before the February 11 release date if you act now. We know that sometimes things just can’t come soon enough – especially if you’ve braved the release of the G1 or you’re a serious BlackBerry addict. As is often the case, we think it may be a question of who you spoke to in the telesales department. It looks like it comes with your run-of-the-mill accessories such as the data cable, travel charger, earbuds and a leather pouch (no holster?!). If you’ve already ordered and received your 8900 or it’s on its way, share the wealth in the comments section and tell us how the process went. For the full unboxing video, hit the jump.

Thanks, trini_pirate!

My rep dropped one off at the office on Thursday, he said it was sent to the wrong address. Looks like we will be ordering way more of these, Bold is crap next to 8900. Bold only wins on the keyboard.

Awesome! The previously mentioned instructions work!

I tried it last night around 8pm and the CSR said I had to wait until Feb 11. I tried it again about 15 mins ago (to test out the day reps) and after I asked about verifying my phone is eligible for an upgrade, they asked if I wanted to order it and have it delivered within 7 days for a 2 year extension!

Cant wait to enjoy my new BB 8900! Thanks BGR and everyone else…

I called in and followed the 6 step instructions.. Worked fine for me. I wanted to change the shipping address, but that would’ve required me to give up my discount

Called about 20 minutes ago PST. 1st male rep wouldn’t budge. 2nd time around, got a VERY nice and helpful lady who spoke to who her supervisor who said no, but put the order through anyway after a few minutes of conversation. All she said was that she couldn’t guarantee when it would arrive but that she’d put the order through anyway.

    Followed these steps:
    1. 611
    2. say “upgrade”
    3. say “blackberry”
    4. be nice, ask if you’re qualified
    5. if so, request the bb and be on your way

    HURRAH!

when ordering, is it being billed to the account you opened up with T-MO in the 1st place, or can you pay with a different CC account over the phone?

Hi, I’m about to enter my 12th month out of my 24 month contract, and I was wondering if anyone knew how much this phone would be without a contract extension or if it is even possible to get this phone without one. If I qualify to order the phone without a contract extension would I still be able to the $100 rebate? Or is there some sort of requirement I must fulfil in order to get the rebate? Thanks.

they are completely available on Feb 11. I have been using mine from Rogers for a month. I like it but I keep getting service book updates which can be pretty annoying (cant get the red light to turn off without shitting phone off). Oh and 8900 on tmo is available for upgrade price of $200 (after $100 mail in rebate). Tmo customer service says phone will retail for $500.

Called yesterday on my way home and followed instructions. No dice.

Guy on the phone actually said everyone on blogs was lying about getting their phones early, which was pretty entertaining to hear.

Even threatened to switch to ATT to get the Bold and he had their rates right in front of him – said (correctly) that I’d be spending more money by doing that.

    Fucker.

I ordered mine but they are charging me $320 total. It’s to arrive soon. I think I have to get a new account to get it for $199.00 the price is $ 449.00 with an upgrade of $120.00 you get it for $299 + tax.

I have to complain and get for $199 as I am extending my contract 2 more years so its like an activation , right?

^ Why is it outrageous that a company wants you to stick to the agreement you signed? You’re eligible for an upgrade after a certain number of months, so why would you expect to get it early? You’re the unreasonable one here…
