Palm prepping for MWC, possibly adding kitchen sink to Pre

It seems like Palm tossed everything but the kitchen sink into its CES announcement but lo and behold, the company somehow held enough in its reserve for another round next month in Barcelona. Thanks to a small oopsie, a new Palm site dedicated to next month’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) went live for just long enough to be spied. Wisely, the site (https://palmmwc2009.com/) was password protected so no real information could be ascertained before it was pulled down. So what exactly does Palm have in store for us at MWC? The smart money and obvious bet is on a GSM/UMTS version of Palm’s upcoming Pre smartphone as the company has already confirmed that it will be coming shortly after the CDMA variant drops with Sprint. MWC is held in Europe of course, so what better place to take the wraps off the European version of its golden boy? Of course Palm completely wowed us at CES so we certainly could be in store for a few surprises. No, there will certainly not be any announcements of CES magnitude but hey, Palm seems to be full of tricks these days. All will be revealed in just under a month.

As low as the bar was set at CES this year, a giant, digital version of Dominoes could’ve stolen the show. ;)
