HTC G2 Android phone gets spied
The blurry cam cometh! We gave you some HTC G2 info last month and since then, the buzz-o-net has been pretty quiet on HTC’s Android sequel. No more – blurry spy shots reportedly showing off the upcoming HTC handset have been delivered via stork to Gizmodo and assuming they’re the real deal, the G2 is pretty much exactly what we expected. No physical keyboard, better 3.2 megapixel camera (where’s the flash?), HTC Touch-like form factor… Meh. According to Giz’s sources the launch is slated for May which, if true, means the software issues we told you about are apparently a bit more serious than initially thought. We’ll wait for official info before we jump to any conclusions though. Hit the jump for a shot of the silky smooth back.

Wow, HTC actually managed to make a device uglier than the G1. That said, if I weren’t getting the BB 8900 next month, I’d jump on this.
can htc make make anything uglier?
Next month: the htc g3
Wow. lots b***ng and Moa**ing about a decent looking phone. good to see verizon’s and AT&T’s trolls are at work.
The Tmo-News leaked shots have it looking much beter. Same shape and all, but black and better design overall. This is an early test unit from what can be gathered from two photographs.
Hmmm. . .if you want an Android phone with a physical keyboard, get a G1. It’s not complicated. Oh yeah, that’s right. No one bought that thing. Maybe someone will actually buy this phone? Unlikely, but possible.
@Mankato: You’re clearly not paying attention.
Not too bad but I don’t like the white.
@Perspective. T-Mobile USA sold more than a million G1 between October and December 2008. It is good to see there are people who still lives under the stone and come out once in a while.
the keys on the n78 were awesome keys. you just need to use them.
The reason it was unsuccessful was not because of the 4 rows of keys, but because of other factors. You can’t link the keys to the entire failure of the phone. most people, including myself, loved the keys on the n78.
Wasn’t my intention to blame the N78s failure on the key form. Just an unhappy coincidence, I guess. I actually liked the phone, as a whole, but I can see how subjectively someone can judge narrow keys that are spring-loaded.
Cant wait to have one in my hands, lol, hopefully soon, anyone know any of the specs on this baby?
Alex and AG, that isn’t a new Sidekick in the background, it’s the Scarlet Sidekick Slide.
Not interested in the G2 if there’s no QWERTY. I’m happy with my G1.
ehh, i dont really like the design, looks a bit outdated..and the sidekick in teh back, looks like the ‘08. but you never know ^_^
MAN IF THIS TH G2 im angry. I bought the first brick which is actually beyond impressive might i add software wise, but this is ridiculous! I would think the next generation would look better but I’ll stick to the G1 if this piece of SH** comes out! What the hell is wrong with Google, HTC and Tmobile, man that OS will not cell every phone especially not that plastic brick like sh** of a device I see on the above picture. PLEASE TAKE THIS BULLSH** a** phone off the site it is hideous. Give us 3.5 jacks, slimmer, glossier case, with a 3.8 screen or even 3.5 I’ll settle for, the on screen and qwerty keyboard, with more 3G coverage for Tmobile and then I’ll cheer, but if this is our future device I’ll give up and just look at my brick like smart device called the G1 and be satisfied wit knowing we were almost there.
HTC, T-MO give US the touch HD with andriod and ill leave A Pimpin&Pimpin ( ill bring my iphone with me for sure though..)
well i have did my researsh on the g2 and it has changed looks but i think this one is going to be the look of the g2 and in one photo the mega pixels on the camera has changed from 5 meg to 3.2 and what i have seen in some advertisements about the g2 the first design of the g2 look way better than this and i do have a g1 and yea i love it but the g2 really doesn’t seem to have changed much but well just see how it operates when it FINALLY is released..
