First look: Visual Voicemail for BlackBerry Bold

You didn’t think your pals at BGR would leave you hanging, did you? Last week we whet your ‘Berry appetite with the news that BlackBerry Bold owners on AT&T had a treat coming their way courtesy of OS 4.6.0.219. That’s right, we’re talking about the impending addition of BlackBerry Visual Voicemail. You knew we weren’t going to let our ninjas off the hook that easily and now they’re back with some exclusive screenshots for all you addicts to feast your eyes on. Once again, we’re looking at OS 4.6.0.219 on an AT&T Bold and now you can get the full picture of BlackBerry Visual Voicemail in action. As for when you can expect an official roll out; patience dear readers, patience. We’re still waiting on a confirmed date but we’re hearing it might become available sooner than you might think – at least for some customers. Hit the jump for more shots.

When’s soon? And will this update finally fix the quirky app memory problems?

.219 has been the smoothest build so far as far as I’m concerned. I’ve been through .167 (I think that’s what mine shipped with) and .216. The original OS had a problem with handling fast forward when watching movies and .216 would randomly pause my MP3 playback. No such issues (or memory probs) with .219, plus OTA OS updates and VVM, whenever they release that = chillin with tha Bold til the Pre comes out and we’ll see what happens then!

Visual Voicemail is the single only thing I missed when I returned my overly buggy, keyboard dissapearing, one side of the screen doesn’t click, proximity sensorless, not that much of an improvement in UI, Storm.

I wish I had it on my Curve!

Glad to hear RIM is implementing it on their real Flagship product. NOW THEY JUST NEED TO COME OUT WITH THE BOLD ON VERIZON!!!!

    Sigh!

I’ll ignore your swipe at the Storm, which I clearly like a lot more than you.

Niagara (CDMA Bold) should hit VZW this spring around the same time Sprint gets it. May is the most common educated guess but we will have to see. It COULD be sooner.

WOW! Kick ars!!! Can’t wait for this to fully release. Downloaded an app that does it also but I’m not thrilled with it. Would rather have it integrated like this straight from BB. I LOVE my Bold!!!

Well…. I guess I’d like to know where I might be able to get a beta version of this so I can try it out. The VVM is what I miss about my iphone, but other than that… I just want it on my bold.

With Fidos BB support on the horizon and my 1-series i believe i’m ready for the economic revolution to conclude, and the world to be reborn once again :)
    Bring it on.

Seeing as how I have had my Bold since the day before christmas and have not set up my voicemail box because of problems, I am happy to see this coming. Especially since I came from the iPhone and got used to it.
