BGR Mobile for BlackBerry…

Before we get into the BlackBerry side of things, we wanted to thank everyone who downloaded BGR Mobile for iPhone/iPod touch so far. We’ve had amazing feedback on the application and can’t thank you enough. We’re already #7 in the News category! In terms of the BlackBerry application, it is in development and since there are more variables with BlackBerrys (8300, 8310, 8320, 8330, 8800, 8820, 8830, 8100, 8110, 8120, 8130, 8210, 8220, 8900, 9000, 9500, 9530, and about 5 different OS versions — just kidding, kind of), we wanted to get one application out of the way so we can concentrate on the bigger challenges. We’re fully committed to bringing BGR Mobile to every major OS platform out there, so bear with us while we get our ducks in a row. Your wait won’t be for nothing — these applications are going to kick ass — there will be constant updates and feature additions as we go along. What we’re offering at this time so we don’t leave our beloved BlackBerry users high and dry is a BGR launcher. This will streamline accessing BGR from your device’s web browser by giving you a dedicated icon on the homescreen. We’ll keep everyone updated on the various BGR Mobile apps when we get a little closer. Thanks again!

I don’t think you guys should’ve made a launcher for the BB. Aparently, the crackberries don’t appreciate the gesture.
iPhone is one OS, which is why an app is easy to build. If you can’t understand that there are multiple blackberries and they have to tailor the app foe each version, than you really shouldn’t be using a “smart”phone.

S60? Whats that? Symbian? No one in America uses Nokias anymore haha
Will it be released for the Bold first?
I think this is a cool idea keep up the good work BGR!
Nice. Google reader works just fine for me, but good effort!
BGR is first major blog I frequent to launch it’s own app for the devices out there. Kudos.
I’m also patiently waiting for an s60 version for my e71.
Ha ha ha I was a dukes I Addison Texas looking at the comments and all of a sudden a drunk chick started my way! I was able to to move around several tables as she still came after me. I don’t know if she was made about the false a
I have a blackberry storm please let 4.7 be th first bb os you make the app for thanks BGR
Considering that the only 3 BlackBerries that even matter is Curve, Bold and Storm, the ones with outdated BlackBerries can just upgrade.
As for iPhone – its a fucking phone dude, it doesnt push mail, its not on a secure server, and well it doesnt even have its own messaging system like BB does. So for all you little fan boys out there… Enjoy your applications while we Blackberry users enjoy a REAL SMARTPHONE!
My comments have been moderated here…so I’ll say thanks for the great BB launcher BG and be on my way!
@Roger A,
That is the stupiest thing I’ve heard all day. iPhone actually has push mail. And if you want to use a secure server for anything you can. Use your own proxy if you’re afraid of someone haxxing into your 2girls1cup account LOL. oh I guess your bb doesn’t display those symbols LOL. People who fight over which phone is ‘better’ are an odd bunch.

BGR has left the BlackBerry world. You start off a BlackBerry story saying thanks to Apple downloads of your pointer. Why didn’t you come out with a BlackBerry launcher first? Because you are all about the Apple.
what no windows mobile love?????? WTH
NOTE TO BG: Don’t even bother with a BB version. Most likely it’ll need to use their web API, which like their browser, is sub-par. The URL stub is good enough.
Or, if you feel you must develop a BB app, hold out for some cash from RIM to sponsor some sort of event for you
Maybe they’ll let you be the official Ninjas at their launch party for their app center(e)
doesnt work on my blackberry bold…
“http error 413: request entity too large”

Will you be using RIM’s websignals to push the content to the device and update the icon when new content is available?
Ok if this post doesn’t prove BGR’s dishonest love (bribery) for the Iphone and hate against RIM/Blackberry, idk what will.
“there will be constant updates and feature additions as we go along.”
There will be? Six months BG. Obviously you guys dropped all efforts in favor of TweetGenius, but that’s been out for quite some time now so no excuse not to be back at work on this!!!
This app keeps on crashing on my phone. Jb 3Gs running 3.0.1, does anyone else have this issue? I have reported the issue to the developer. Now I just need to wait for an update. Hopefully, it comes out fast.
