BGR Mobile for iPhone hits App Store

It’s been a long time comin’, but we finally have lift off. We’re very pleased to announce that if you’ve got an iPhone or iPod Touch, BGR Mobile is ready to go! Ok fine, you’re mildly intrigued. But, what does the application do? To get the obvious out of the way, you can catch up on all the latest BGR posts, and if you’re feeling social you can comment on them right from the device. We’ve built in the option of using your location for comments so it will post your city and state below your comment if you choose. Always wanted to be a BGR ninja? Snap a photo with your iPhone and send it into us! We’re already working on the 1.1 version update, but for now, download this bad boy and tell us what you think.

    @blah,

    If you don’t like the operating system asking to use your location you should file a bug with apple since those messages are from them.

    I don’t mind if it asked for location once per app opening, but it asks every 10 seconds… thats not an OS bug, it’s a BGR Mobile bug

    Is there a reason why I cannot download this to my Ipod Touch?

    @blah no you’re actually wrong. Those popup alerts come from the os not the app. Not only that, because the os sends them there is no way for the application to know what choice you made. I have never had an issue like you describe after saying no, so i’d suggest looking into it as a “bug” possible reinstall the app if it’s the only one that uses location services that acts this way.
