HTC’s full 2009 lineup revealed
Anxiously awaiting the hot new handsets from HTC? The wait might not be over but the mystery of what handsets HTC has in store for us in 2009 has certainly been solved – compliments of Arlen at PPC Geeks, the entire 2009 lineup for HTC has been leaked. The new HTC handsets include the Touch HD Pro which will make its appearance on Verizon and Sprint, the HTC Iolite and Iolite II, HTC’s Android offering, the HTC hero, the Tungsten for T-Mobile and the HTC Jasper for Sprint. AT&T will apparently be getting the Topaz and the Barium. There are 25 handsets in all and include the following:
- Whitestone W
- Magnet (Iolite II)
- Jasper C (for Sprint)
- Firestone
- Beryl (Jade 2)
- Twin (CDMA + GSM)
- Willow W
- Thoth (Athena 2)
- Sapphire (VF)
- Saphire 2.0 (TMO)
- Sapphire 1.5 (DCM)
- Memphis
- Hero (Android Hero)
- Tungsten W (Sprint)
- Rhodium
- Rhodium W (VZW)
- Topaz
- Topaz (AT&T)
- Topaz C
- Tungsten (TMO, TMUS)
- Barium (AT&T)

Some of the handsets appear to be new offerings while some are updated versions of current HTC handsets like Touch Diamond and the Touch HD. Hit the jump for a snapshot of each phone and make sure you lean back a bit to avoid getting drool on your keyboard.

Backbeat has a point, albeit it’s not his/her job to police the comments section.
And I agree about the phone/carrier topic as well – although my feelings are decidedly more amiable towards the pre, it’s not some people’s cup of tea.
Wait, is the Jasper going to be Sprint’s first Android phone? Its got the angled ‘chin’ that all of the other Android sets have.
@Ervil: Because this is an open blog without rigidly enforced moderation, it is all of our jobs to police, IMO, if it is to remain above the fray of many others. This place is only as good as its weakest link.
No Shift 2. Phooey.
@ backbeat
You just seem to knock whatever you feel threatened by. Check out this link http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/01/12/your-first-look-at-palms-webos-sdk-mojo/
It’s all about how the pre’s webOS is going to work, creating applications etc.
But then again, you don’t really care, do you?
^Yawn. I’m not threatened by you, the Pre, or George W Bush.
On topic: Without access to the OS kernel, you’re not going to have any development beyond simplistic 2D views. So much for GPS and those interested in serious gaming.
That’s not to say that you can’t use it to look up your BFF.
Now, please … Just put down the hate and step away.
Too bad it takes forever for a US carrier subsidized phone to hit the shelves… I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see any until late summer.
^ HATE???
You’re the one constantly hating Sprint & Palm. The bunch of us are just trying our best not to hate you!
Calling us ’shills” for liking our provider & expressing joy over a new phone coming “soon”, that’s HATE!
We read BGR to find out specifically this!
^Consider me unconcerned about you and your BFFs.
You’re not immune from the logic of Cause & Effect. Somehow, I’m not convinced that you’re equally as excitable when any other vendor simply does their job, such as picking up your garbage, writing you a speeding ticket, auditing your taxes, etc.
I’m digging the Saphire for T-Mobile. Their UMA service should be compatible with their 3G network by summer so I’m hoping for:
3G, UMA, Android, GPS… Plus a much more elegant layout and touch responsive screen than the G1.
It appears it will also be much thinner than the G1. Looks like a winner. Can’t wait.
C’mon backbeat. You know that you’re my only BFF!
Besides all of the bickering going on here, did anyone else realize that the Willow W is sprint branded??? I was looking over each phone and noticed that!
Since last few months i am awaiting for some handset that should have useful features and HTC has solved my problem, this HTC handset is really useful and helpful.
@ Dbenson32: Nice catch!! now put down the magnifying glass and back away from the screen.
^It could simply be a placeholder (or not). It’s doubtful that any single carrier will offer very similar smartphone hardware layouts unless each has a different OS. With the Treo Pro being released in the near future, I don’t see another version of WM 6.1 being offered with that formfactor _this_ year.
I hope you are right and we do not see any of these launch with 6.1. Curious to see if WinMo 7 makes it on any that launch in 3Q or Q4 or if 6.5 will be the best we get this year.
will yall stick to the topic! dese phones is sexy. im diggin the jasper c i been waitin for like 2 months since my contract been up to get a new phone and i just hope these wont all come out in the middle of the year like palm pre suppose to come out.
That Jasper C looks like a Touch HD with a keyboard, I would be happy w/o the keyboard
Now my hope here is that VZW does not cripple or otherwise completely drop the ball and #$$% up this phone like they have the other HTC phones. The have a chance to redeem themselves here. i just wonder if they can do it. I would prefer an option of selecting which OS you want. I prefer WM, but I know others that don’t. To each his own.
jasper for me!! Hope its out in june when my contract is up. I could have a touch pro jasper and a pre (pre for the woman lol)
I’m a sprint user and have always been a fan of HTC devices. I def am looking forward to seeing a full hands on for sprint’s first android phone. But since i absolutely love my blackberry the only phone that would have me change might be the Palm Pre. I guess we’ll wait and see how the year progresses.
I wonder when these will start trickling out to each carrier
looks good
lets see how many of them a just pipe dreams!
I reckon backbeat is an iPhone user and lover. I reckon he’s not saying it because they can be some of the most hated bloggers online by those who aren’t keen on it.
So it’s understandable why he would deny or not disclose his thoughts as many would just disregard him but I reckon if he just came out and discussed without hate toward the Palm/Sprint enemy we would all be better off, pity he wont
.
What sux is that they all look alike and HTC quality is getting cheaper. Poor materials = poor quality phones…….and WinMo is still a battery hog. HTC needs to dump WinMo or WinMo needs to be redesigned from the ground up.
