“Will I say which ones? No, because: #1- It’s no one’s fucking business, and #2- This isn’t a football game where they who flood with the most ‘cheers’ wins, ie. the point overlooked by the resident Shills.”
So essentially name calling and pointless brand-hating is OK but heaven forbid someone talk about the pros and cons of things they use. I like these forums because they help me to get firsthand accounts of what is out there. I share my experiences as well. It is rare that I will bash a company, although I will at least attempt to explain why I like one option over another. If giving my own analysis is somehow “shilling” (I do not think it means what you think it means) then I guess you’re right. Until you do more than call people “shill” and “bitchboy” like some bratty kid you’re just pushing the signal-to-noise ratio of good sites in the wrong direction.
HOT!
vzw getting a touch hd?! can i return my omnia?!!
@ everyone responding to backbeat:
Don’t feed the troll.
Sad but true.
@neodorian: Is it really necessary to be so oblique? Shilling is the act of being/acting as a shill. Plain to see for those who recognize the context is not about monetary values.
When the same multi-nicked individuals repeat, ad nauseum, the same generic garbage about carrier superiority, they become self-evident.
Either you can contend with these facts or you can serve as an apologist for them. You know where I’ve put my $.
Yin will continue to be met by Yang.
So what if they’re Sprint shills?
@ backbeat
Wipe your ass a little better. I’m noticing a little aftertaste.
@backbeat: That’s not how you win a football game. And why be such a stick in the mud?
Truth’s a ruthless bitch, boy.
Alright he’s not even making sense anymore. No more food for you troll.
^Guess I put my money on the right horse, eh semi?
Deal with it.
Tungsten, eh? Borrowing some naming cues from Palm’s PDA lineup? (alright, I realize that these are codenames)
I wouldn’t consider backbeat a troll. He’s just either a sprint hater or a palm hater.
It’s too bad this thread cant be about something like …. i don’t know … HTC’s 2009 LINEUP!!!!! This is getting lame. Ok i get it, Backbeat uses the word “Shill” in every post and ends them all with a smiley, all while hating Sprint. Let him hate. Everytime you comment you throw fuel on the fire.
@Backbeat – Let me save you some time … “KSmithIn-Shill-NY you are a shill … shill
”
Now how about that little piece of sexy HTC calls the Whitestone W. I’m diggin the kickstand
You’re probably right. But it’s so much fun. I just can’t help myself.
@KSmithInNY: Shills and Apologists are unabashedly self-evident, but are an eyesore and an insult to any thinking person, nonetheless. I don’t consider you in their category.
Those easily tossing around terms like ‘hater’ and such conveniently overlook the causative reasons for responses. Sucks to be them.
@Backbeat: Do any of the phones above interest you? I have an idea on what you dont like (sprint/Palm) but am interested in hearing what you do like. With all that sexy pictured above atleast 1 of them has to catch your eye.
Eye-candy isn’t enough to get my attention anymore ans very subtle hardware design updates are usually not worth going thru carrier ‘upgrades’. Something like the Athena-2, Whitestone, or Rhodium possibly could serve a useful purpose, depending on its OS, specs and features. I’m not married to any single platform.
Problem is that what we don’t know about these models far outweighs that which we do.
I think s/he hates sprint more than anything else in the world. He can’t tolerate the thought that we might get a good phone that will not only keep us afloat, but add fuel as well.
@ backbeat
We may be “shills” for actually liking our phones and service. What’s the word for a guy who’s hell bent on the destruction or disappearance of Sprint? (Or whichever company that he hates/fears more than the devil.)
I think the ans to that question is… Retard.
I like the phones we use also, but I’ve yet to say anything, pro or con, about the carriers they are on.
The fact remains, I couldn’t care less what happens to Sprint, where there is a level playing field. Some posters treat this as a location for polluting with ad nauseum generic screeds cheerleading on behalf of their carrier. If it were Verizon, TMo, or AT&T, I would be making the very same comments. Only if you were genuinely mentally curious, you would discover that the worst offender of one’s intelligence here are those posting virtual ads on behalf of Sprint. Those taking such action only harm the cause their misplaced passion supports.
Time for sanity and accountability to return.
The only thing interesting in that group (for me) is Rhodium – well, Rhodium W, in my case.
It’s not going to be what happens in my dreams (at least a 5.0 MP shooter with auto-focus, a quality lens, xenon flash, full QWERTY with that issue from the VZW Touch Pro resolved, plus all the RAM that the Sprint version will get), but I’m interested to see what’s going to come.
Mad props, as always, to the BGR crew for coming up with shit just eons before anybody else.
HTC isn’t a fan of flash for their camera’s? What’s the deal?
@ backbeat
Are you saying that if the palm pre was coming to your carrier you wouldn’t be thrilled to bits? (WM7 knockoff, and all.) You just wouldn’t show it. Because you’re devoid of all human emotion. So, anyone who does show emotion must be a _____ you fill in the blanks.
^Devices and Carriers are 2 very different subjects and shouldn’t be co-mingled. For me and my needs and those of my business, I have no interest in the Pre, regardless of carrier.
