Poor Palm; Pre pricing possibly published prior to public proclamation
Nope, it’s not over yet. More Pre news is coming down the pipes and this time it comes from rumorsville. The two biggest pieces of the puzzle omitted from the Palm hoopla yesterday were pricing info and timing for the GSM version. Many have speculated that Pre pricing would fall in line with the iPhone 3G to create the best fighting chance Palm and Sprint have of competing. If Eldar Murtazin of Mobile-review is to be believed however, that sentiment is out the door. How does double sound? According to Murtazin’s sources, the Pre will launch with a steep price tag of $399. Wow. Of course the original price of Apple’s base iPhone was $399 but plenty has changed since then and the Pre isn’t quite the jaw-dropper Apple’s handset was when it first saw daylight. We have no reason to doubt Murtazin but we do hope his sources are wrong about this one, especially considering the fact that we will almost certainly see a new iPhone released before Sprint can drop the Pre price down to mass-attainability level.
As far as the GSM version of the Pre is concerned, Murtazin’s sources state an early 2H release in Europe with pricing in the neighborhood of $500 – $550 USD. While carriers are still unknown at this point, the pricing certainly sounds about right if we’re looking at $400 from Sprint. Of course the release of a GSM / WCDMA-compatible Pre was never really a question but it’s nice to have a possible time frame, for Europe at least. Looks like it’s time to dust off the phone number of your favorite mobile importer.

^Where have we heard this before? You’re [again] cheerleading to yourself. Are you really that easily inspired, shill?
This would be cheerleading if, like backbeat, I pissed on all the other carrier related story on every forum. My preference, my money, where do you get off telling people how to spend and what to like? I’m starting to believe that guy/girl may be a jilted former employee because I’ve seen persons post ill will towards Sprint and Palm but never with such vigor and everywhere in every related article. Let me guess, another post about cheering 2 dying companies or how Sprint makes customers pay for things they don’t need. I’ll end with this, Sprint has loyalist, like me for example, just as any other company and you won’t any of them with conjecture
^Don Louie who said “Sprint has loyalist, like me for example.”
So does George W. Bush. Thanks for the clarity.
And that’s my point, the last sentence was supposed to say “sway any of them”.
‘Loyalist’ does not equate to ‘Shill’, Opie.
You’re the difference _and_ the problem.
And that’s your problem, backbeat, difference is a problem be that’s sad because drones are lame
^When your thoughts have merit, Queen O’Shills, I’ll let you know. Until then … Not so much.
Idiot.
_Still_ a dime-a-million, shilling Sprint_Whore, bitchboy-Donnie?
Nothing changes with you, Princess.
I suggest you make some of the same post on howardforums, sprintusers, phonearena, mobiledia and buzzaboutwireless. Personal attacks and habitual trolling is a surefire way to get banned, wish it was done here but this isn’t an impartial site and as long as none of thier favorite carriers are flamed it’s okay. I am torn between which device to get now, price is going to be a part of my decision along with features so right now my 1st smartphone will be had this year. Will it be my 1st Palm (Pre for $250 or under), 1st RIM (Bold), Android Instinct or will it be my 1st HTC
Give the Sprint-sponsored virtual-ads a rest, Skippy. No one is buying and you’re only fooling yourself into believing your ’cause’ has merit.
You’re not exempt from the concept of Cause & Effect. Without Sprint-trollsters, such as yourself, there would not be a response, now would there? Funny how that works, isn’t it? (rhetorical question)
You’re simply redundant.
2 of the mentioned sites are catered to Sprint subs and also have room for all participation whomever your carrier, the rest of them are for all carrier and manufacturers. Your shortsighted views toward opposing opinions and facts is why I recommended it to give you a matter of perspective. There is no reason for your post other than to aggitate
I’m terribly saddened that you consider introspection as ‘agitating’.
I suppose I should have only held out as much hope for you as I do for one George W Bush. Foolish wars are waged in many ways, aren’t they, fool?
My only limited view is on the assumption of innocence in the presence of repeated, ad nauseum virtual ads on behalf of the carrier to which you are married.
It is hilarious how uncivilized people can be. The SE plan is good. It is so good, that the big 2 have formed an unlimited voice plan for the same price. Albeit that the SE plan includes text, data, gps, tv, music, pic mail, vid mail, and of course, minutes. AT&T rated horribly in most areas for voice coverage (behind t-mobile in some areas). They rated behind Sprint and Verizon for mobile broadband card data nationwide. T-Mobiles 3G is taking off. Verizon has the most subscribers and the most stable voice network in the nation. Never has there been so many options for individuals looking for a cellphone carrier here in the US. To say that Sprint’s SE is overpriced is ridiculous. Verizon charges the same price without text and internet. If you don’t need SE, you can a-la-carte add-ons. Sprint offers data for only for $15.00 (yes, even for new customers), and $25.00 for data and gps and tv. text plans ranging from $5, $10, and $20.00. The only carrier that has plans even remotely close would be T-Mobile. So let the people decide. Try not to shovel FALSE information down their throats and scream wolf.
_ANY_ carrier who promotes plans on 2 separate tracks, each of which delivers identical services, but charges half [or less] for the “insider” plan, is less than ingenuous.
When the “insider” plan is available without proper checks-and-balances to any tom/dick/harry who games the system, it cheapens that carrier and the services it provides. If that carrier can quietly promote insider plans, without reasonable limitations, all other comparable plans which are routinely promoted can reasonably be seen as overpriced, considering the carrier is perfectly content to have unlimited subscribers on its insider plans.
Civility? Try accountability for a refreshing change. Cause & Effect is something _you’re_ not exempt from either, bitchboy. Don’t like these facts? Take it up with Management.
That’s it, she wanted SERO and couldn’t get it so is mad the plan exist. SERO Plus is out now so her panties are all in a bunch, I was waiting on somebody to confirm the prices I posted. Thank you backbeats daddy, your daughter refuses to see some want to save money and get that with Sprint. Your daughter is going to call you a liar and put some link that will be her gospel
No gospel. Only the truth that Sprint talks out of both sides of its mouth. Tough shit for you that you lack the spine to admit the unlevel playing field this creates within the ranks of Sprint’s customers as well as compared to other carriers.
Talkin’ to yourself _again_, bitchboy?
What isn’t level, they are #3 carrier by 20M. I get that you don’t like them or whoever is tied to them but saying Sprint is cheating is lame
I’m sure the millions of subscribers who are filing suit against Sprint for their New-York-Shell-Game of pricing plans beg to differ.
Truth’s a bitch, boy.
You wanted to call me bob and weave, where are the plans cheating?
^Digital waste of space.
Show me the money, bitchboy!
I gladly invite readers to go thru Sprint’s site and try to find $15/Mo unlimited data on a 800w or Centro, just as you’ve repeatedly lied about.
http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASApp/onlinestore/en/Action/SubmitRegionAction
Never said it was for smartphones genius, you’re trying to make your argument right when it isn’t
As previously shown, _EVERY_ carrier offers $15/Mo unlimited _W_A_P_ internet service on simple cell phones.
AT&T MediaNet @ $15/Mo.
Verizon VCast/Unlimited Web @ $15/Mo
All without having to game the system. Available via web, phone, or store.
Sprintster Trolls are so precocious at your age, bitchboy.
Where is said that any of these other carriers allow said plans, your sidestepping the issue at hand. Prove that I said the cheap data is for smartphones, jackass. We Sprint customers will be happy with this phone as long as the price is right
Exclusive to Sprint … Smartphone $15/Mo unlimited data plan, as endorsed by Louie, et al … Just ask them for directions to obtaining it. But, make sure those idiots understand that a toy like the Instinct is _not_ a smartphone.
Funny a link was provided for my other post but not this one, let’s me know someone is lying
