AT&T suffering a data outage, again
Just one short week after AT&T suffered a major network outage across much of the northeast and beyond, reports are flooding our inbox yet again complaining of problems. This time, only data seems to be affected but reports are coming in from up and down the east coast. We’re still sitting pretty in the NYC area with no problems connecting via 3G, but plenty of readers are complaining of repeated error messages when attempting to connect. Voice seems to be unaffected but if you live on the east coast and you were planning to stay on top of Apple’s keynote at Macworld later today, AT&T may have other plans for you. Unless you have a buddy you can call to keep you on top of the reports, you may want to find a computer until the issues are resolved. We wonder if a power outage will be to blame, as was reported last week. So, east coasters, how you holding up? Drop us a line below in the comments if you’ve been affected.

OK, so we all know that AT&T sucks.
We all know the iPhone has a HUGE fanbase.
We all know it’s NOT going to happen, but what if—-
Verizon is merging with Alltel, what if in ADDITION to the Storm, Verizon was able to sell the iPhone.
I can see it now, Verizon has the largest broadband network available, the most customers, the Storm, AND the iPhone. All other carriers close their doors and sell the business to Verizon.

OK, now on to reality, I know CDMA and GSM will not mix… AT&T has exclusivity over the iPhone…. for now. But it would be GREAT!!!
Can anyone let me know when the att 3g data connections recovers?
I had no data this morning in downtown Portland, OR
AT&T wireless told me today that all of NYC (and other parts of the country as well) had no data and frequently no outgoing calls either sine the outage last night. Mine were both down for 24 hours but the reboot brought them both back up. Working now.
AT&T voluntarily offered me a $50 credit, didn’t even have to ask, so call them up and get your money’s worth!
No 3G or Edge in Central Illinois! And it is still sketchy in Northern Illinois around Chicago. Resetting the SIM did nothing in either area.
I live in Columbus Ohio and I don’t have any data service either. I called AT&T and they told me to wait 24 hours. So I’m waiting and if its not resolved I’m going to ask for another month of free service.
Where in LA are you having problems??? I live in Hollywood, and 3G couldn’t be better. Speed tests consistently come back with 950kbps. Should I call and complain?
I mean what’s the standard when I read things like “Alright, so we all know that ATT sucks”???
