UGH…Enough already. I am SO tired of hearing the “Smartphone pundits” predict yet another *release date* for the Javelin (aka “Curve 8900″ ask “Curve 2″). We’ve been hearing it’s coming to T-Mobile *next month* since July.

By the way, these are the very same “TMO insiders” that assured us (without a doubt) that TMO was the first to get the Bold. We all know (now) *that* was bad information. So please spare us the *next week* stuff unless you actually know something.

Additionally, the feature-hysteria speculation is just out of control on these forums. I’m really tired of hearing all of this iPhone killer nonsense that never materializes. (The day I will sync and play my iTunes (M4P) library onto my Blackberry is far, far off, dear Smartphone pundits – so please stop telling me otherwise. AS IF Apple would EVER let that happen…)

I’ve called TMO Customer Service every week and they always tell me the same thing, “There are no new Blackberry devices on-deck for T-Mobile. Have you thought about a G1?”

Actually this week, I was told by TMO Blackberry Support that their chances of getting the Blackberry Storm next (in June or July 2009) were better than them getting the Javelin.

In an attempt to be coy, I asked if I could use and unlocked Javelin on their network and was told, “Don’t do that. Trust me, it won’t work the way you think it will”.

So, not to knock the geniuses, but where are they getting their information? Even if T-Mobile is lying to me, all of the *experts* have been way off and far-flung on their projections of T-Mobile’s Blackberry line-up.

If you ask me, TMO is getting out of the cell phone/SmartPhone business and more into the home phone business with their ever-growing line-up of low-end devices.

What’s next a TMO 3G JitterBug? It seems we stand a better chance of seeing that than another Blackberry.

Lol…do you have any idea what you’re talking about? The Magnum is the codename for the 3g curve 9220 that will release later this year. It will be the first blackberry along with the pluto (9900) (or updated Bold) to incorporate the touch screen AND qwerty keyboard technology. The Magnum will most likely be released under the curve name once its all said and done.

primary evaluations are done inhouse. Once the phone is considered acceptable according to “our” standards evaluation units are sent to testers for each major carrier. Before the phones are sent spec sheets/informational packets are sent to the same people, if we receive an offer for exclusivity, this is usually the time. After those are sent, we usually send units to particular major review editors, sites, etc.

Windows mobile and 3G???? Prob not for awhile, if ever. The new shadow is windows mobile but not 3G. Personally I think the shadow sucks either way. I’m gettin the 8900 and then the GSM Storm

I hate how any carrier can get exclusive rights to any particular phone. I mean I understand why and how it happens (free market capitalistic society) but I wish they didn’t have so much control.

Example: iPhone with AT&T. Nuff said.

But now that the iPhone is becoming so commodisized and stale I’m now open to other high end futuristic mobile devices.

Storm 9520 will be up for release to US GSM carriers soon, its up to Tmobile whether or not they want to pick it up. Tmobile may get the magnum later, but ATT bought exclusivity rights for atleast 90 days.

I don’t know about you, but mine was “Made in Hungary.” I have a feeling its just where the parts come from. I think they may be assembled in Canada. There’s definitely a BB factory in Waterloo.

Verizon customers will be getting the 8930 curve, codenamed Jupiter, and will offer the same features as its counterpart, id say Q2 of 09. As for those with gripes about the Curve lacking 3g, wait for the magnum (3g curve). however ATT has already bought exclusivity rights so good news if you’re an ATT customer.

Most RIM units are manufactured in Mexico, but they are sent back here to Waterloo for final assessment and holding before they are sent out for quality control purposes. Tmobile phones are being manufactured as we speak.

it was never a prediction i simply said that was the estimated ETA I last saw on paper. I don’t work fot AT&T I work for rim and am responsible for distribution/inventory control. Cannot give you more information than that since Id like to keep my job. The phones were sent and AT&T already has their first stock shipment, its up to them to release.

Anyone notice how most BlackBerry devices are Made in Mexico, yet BB214 claims to be in Canada where they produce them… hmmm…

Most my BlackBerry’s (Owner since 2005) have been Made in Mexico, including my 8320.

I could be wrong, just throwing that out there.
