I highly doubt it, they either would say you violated some agreement or other and try to charge and arm and a leg, or I would get out of my contract somehow through it. I am more than happy with my level of service and price of my plan with Sprint, and I have used plenty of "iffy" software apps on older phones and my computer on a regular basis. I was just making points since all too often people just say to use the RIM release and don't worry about it. If it was that simple then Sprint wouldn't even need be involved with the OS updates, we would get them all from RIM first hand, but since Sprint uses proprietary software (music, TV, no MMS etc.) then using a generic 4.5 might not be the best way for SOME people to go. The vast majority of users out there are the ones that strictly stick to the Sprint OS, or don't have the know-how or even the confidence to do an OS update on their own, what are the majority of users to do then? Sprint just needs to get on the ball and get the thing released already. U have THAT many issues with ur phone that u stop by the Sprint store periodically? If u ever have an issue that u can't resolve urself, just downgrade back to ur old OS. Very simple and definitely worth it. @Mike

Just because Sprint doesn’t offer it, doesn’t mean you can’t get 4.5. Go on BB Forums and can find the latest 4.5 release for your 8330. There is no difference between these releases and what Sprint will eventually release. I installed 4.5 on my ATT Curve months before ATT released it.
