Verizon BlackBerry Storm Return Rate

Here’s the skinny on this situation… We had heard various return rates on the Verizon BlackBerry Storm from three (actually four, but we’ll discount the last one) extremely credible sources of ours. These ranged from 35-50% in some markets/regions. That is an absurdly high figure, folks. While we trust our sources, we wanted to continue to dig until we wrote up a post on it here. We let a publication quote us on that, because that is what we had heard. No harm, no foul.  But we weren’t going to post on it here until we had 100% confirmed it.

Verizon Wireless hit us up and here’s what a Verizon Wireless official had to say: “The Storm has the lowest return rate of any of our PDAs and at this point in its life cycle, it has the lowest return rate of any PDA we currently sell.”

We’ll let you guys do all the talking. Own a Storm? Happy with it? Returned it? Know friends that are happy/returned theirs? Hit us up so we can get some good feedback and your thoughts on this.

likeabite I comprehend just fine, it appears it is quite personal. How are you helping when your remarks here are not even part of the basic discussion? I do not care what crazy people on here write when it has nothing to do with a phone. I am old enough and wise enough to make my own decisions. Please leave me alone as it seems you are into personal stuff. All I wanted was some information without having to deal with a jerk. Seems to me it is you that should think about backing off as the other guy has seemed to have had enough of you. I will go elsewhere.

Oh poor poor Paul…how the mighty have fallen…well you finally realized that BGR is not the place for us to do this and you’ve gone and done some research…nice job. Since you said you want to meet me in the streets of NYC and you have ALL my contact info please hit me up and we can definitely send the vid over to BGR after I’m done beating your ass all over time square. LMAO you sound upset Paul…I have you doing a little investigative work huh, You actually went and did research on a blogger because he doesn’t have your views on how great the iPhone is…lmfao i can’t stop laughing. Well I guess you’re the one taking it personal and we’re all here thinking wow this guy has no life. And like Rimarkable said “NOBODY LOVES YOU!!!” lmfao…not even your mom loves you…if it wasn’t by a stroke of luck she probably would’ve swallowed you homie…it’s cool though I promise you if you accept my offer and meet me outside this virtual boy world you’re living in you won’t be blogging for months to come. It’s all in fun…WHY SO SERIOUS!? lmao

@ Tom – So I make comments and he does research…now who’s taking it personal lmao

    Kwadwo Boateng @ Likeabite:

You even SPIN this. It took all of a minute to find your info and it will take all of a minute to start sending copies of your thousands of comments that are date stamped to your employer. I am absolutely sure, that since you work for a NYC agency, using their bandwidth and time for insulting people on a website is NOT allowed. In fact is some places its an absolute crime. NYC tax payers should not be financing your twisted agenda an obsession. They pay you to do their work. Between insulting people on this blog and uploading copyrighted material on the blog you lied and claimed to own, what do you do at work? Nothing. They will not miss you.

Having a different opinion is perfectly OK. Following people around calling them names when they are not even addressing you is not only not right it is a bit sick and shows you are obsessed.

MORON, you are not a blogger! A blogger writes a blog. YOU only comment on a blog you have no affiliation with! You don’t even own the blog you claimed. The one with the really bad copyrighted videos and music that are uploaded.

What you are is a frustrated twenty-something with a lousy job that went to a mediocre college. Hardly the “most expensive college in America” you claimed your mommy sent you too. You have limited knowledge of technology and have owned two devices, with the broken iStorm being your first BB. You lied about almost everything to just push your twisted agenda.

Lucky for you I don’t live in NY or I would meet you today and slap you around. After seeing your picture I can do this without breaking a sweat. But since I do not live near you I will tell you this last time, STOP the BULLSHIT or I will have you applying for welfare faster than you can blink. Then you will actually “like -a- bite” and Micky Dees is all you will afford.

When you see my on any blog, think twice before you comment anything to me or about me. This will be the last time I warn you.

OK Kwaldo? Are we now finished?

Nope, far from it Paul…whether it was a minute or 20 hours you still took the time out to look. Be my guest and send whatever you want to anyone you want. First you say you want to meet me now you’re saying you don’t live near me so you can’t…it’s either you’re spinning to make yourself look tough…or (and my guess is that this is the most likely one) you’re a bitch and realized I was serious with mine so you’re reniggin’…either way if you can’t back it up the shut up bitch…pretty simple if you ask me. You have all my contac info after all that research and it doesn’t mean shit. You said you wanted to meet me and now you can’t because you don’t live in NY…riiite…good luck with that buddy, No one believes you!! You’re a bitch and you mad cause you got murked on here now you want to make things personal and cry and bitch and moan. It’s nothing to me to beat your ass if you want to take it personal…you saw my picture and yet still don’t wanna see me. Come see me homie and I’ll make sure you stop blogging on BGR for months on end…no extremes here though because you still have to live to tell the story. Lol, I’m just kiddin’…lighten up…WHY SO SERIOUSSSS?! lmao…nah on the real though I’d fuck you up if you decided to take me up on my offer…jk jk jk HI PAUL!!!

After they fire your ass, you will have all day without hiding your NYC owned computer from your boss to comment all day! I guess you are amazed how all this happened so fast! The next step is so easy. Please provoke me. I have the whole week off and have plenty of time!

I had the Storm for more than a week and I love it. It has wonderful features – email, IM, Web Browsing, Multimedia, etc….. and more importantly make/receive calls is far better (than on iPhone). People returning phones donno how to use it unless they r heavy text/IM user.

    Sherry Campbell says:

I’ve had my Storm since 12/5 – it is now 2/27. The touch screen is really hell. I find it easier to use the double letter vertical and that says how truly awful it is. I have to be extremely careful using the full qwerty. So it is painstakingly slow and to get numbers you have to switch screens. Plus if you’re using a letter in the top row, often foreign versions with accents on o or u pop up.

My other complaint is you have to answer it, when it rings, very carefully, or you drop the call. So whenever I get a call, I am so so so careful. A big pain.

Another complaint, when in horizontal qwerty, I often turn on the camera accidently. And figuring out how to turn it off is a huge pain in the rear.

Also it is clunky. It is too big. Too wide. Too heavy. Battery – have to charge it once a day if you’ve used it at all or if you get much email.

Another shock, there is no desktop calendar. I have had a Palm (years ago) and kept the palm desktop calendar. Fortunately the bb syncs with that and easily pulls all contacts, calendar info, etc into the bb storm itself. But how wierd is that – they don’t have their own?

As this is my first phone that I’ve browsed the web, I can’t tell how good the Storm is for that. I certainly can put in url’s, bookmark, enlarge webpages. (I had a Dare before which I really loved but I wanted a full calendar function. The Dare’s touch screen was a bit difficult but actually a piece of cake compared to BB and, as it is not a pda, very straightforward and fun.)

The good: lovely screen, easy to scroll around, the bb menu is a nice feature, vz nav works great, great speakerphone, works well as a phone, good reception and call and speakerphone volume. And Gmail is great. This is one of the best features of the Storm, getting and sending Gmail.

I will return mine. Because I love vz nav, I’m toying with either HTC Touch Pro or Samsung Omnia. My worry with Omnia, once again a touch qwerty and reviews say it hasn’t enough RAM. And reviews seem to be filled with people who hate Windows Mobile.

I have used a BB primarily for email, web work and, more frequently, Word on the go. My current BB is the 8700 which is a great device, except for the fact it can’t be upgraded anymore. I was really looking forward to the Storm and jumped right in. Suffice it to say that the Storm has not met my expectations for a RIM device. It is full of flaws (design and otherwise), and should not have been released. I think that the people who are content with the Storm are the lucky few whose fingers are, by sheer luck, of the size that work well within the design flaws of the device. I am an average-sized male (5′ 11″) and find typing on the Storm an exercise in futility. I also agree with others that have pointed out the other flaws with it.
In time the device will be fantastic, and I look forward to the next version of the Storm. Right now, I replaced the Storm with a new Bold and am very happy.

(5′11″) did you say? You are a BIG man! yah, wouldn’t suggest you keep the storm. What were you thinking when you bought it? that you had average size fingers like everyone else? c’mon bud, this sleek n sexy phone wasn’t made for you in mind. the BOLD seems more of your type. hehe

    @ Sherry Campbell

so you’re telling us that a phone’s OS is keeping you away from buying a phone? and that you expect a smartphone/PDA to be small and lightweight? and that its battery SHOULD last for seven days straight? maybe if you wait 2 or more years from now…you might get your wish. woman…you are really picky; wonder if your husband knows about this because he SHOULD be grateful to have married you.

Sherry, you are obviously a new Blackberry user and haven’t the slightest clue about its versatile abilities. It is NOT a dumb phone
and it is not just another smartphone either.
lucky for you, what you have in your hand is a very powerful business tool that requires training in order to make use of its full potential. If you don’t believe me, you should check Amazon and check out the amount of books that are being offered to support Blackberries.

so to help you set straight your mentality about the storm; might i suggest you read the following link below. it will provide you with hints and tips about your powerful Blackberry storm. good luck!

Never ceases to amaze me that obvious fanboys want to criticize anyone that does not like their favorite plastic toy. The Post is about people keeping or returning the Storm. Just about every single person on here that has an issue with it and there are loads of them are told it is their fault the phone does not work for them! HAHAHA

I am interested in purchasing the new storm coming from an EnV2 for the touch capabilities….I love the fact that I won’t have to flip it open….but I am nervous about all of the bad reviews. Hopefully someone will be able to help me out with my decision. If not I might be switching to T-Mo for the Beyond!!! I’m not sure if I want to do that! lol

if you like to text alot and if you want something better than an iPhone, get the storm! all storms have been updated with latest firmware, so no worries there. At least try it for 2 weeks. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with the storm as much as I do.

keeping it, but regretting it. i wanted to believe in the storm to live up to its hype. but the denial is starting to wear off and using the ‘premier’ features could be a little tiring/tedious sometimes. had it been promoted a little different and with a more refined OS i would be happier. i first thought no wifi was unacceptable, now i just want to have a faster-moving OS. and i found bberry users to be like toyota supra owners.
