Possible images of HTC Touch Pro running BlackBerry Application Suite

Assuming this is real, which it may not be, you might just be looking at the greatest thing to happen to Windows Mobile since – umm – ever. Sometime back in 2007, news of an upcoming software solution surfaced that would allow Windows Mobile users to emulate the BlackBerry OS and grant them access to BlackBerry apps. In other words, it would sort of allow the BlackBerry OS to run as a Windows Mobile application. Pretty much everyone forgot about the rumors quite some time ago since nothing ever materialized, but now a handful of images have surfaced that reportedly show the BlackBerry Application Suite running on an HTC Touch Pro. You read that correctly – BlackBerry OS, on an HTC Touch Pro. While the images on the screen look shiny and new, lack of an HTML browser and some other areas tells us we’re looking at an old feature set. Sure it’s not ideal, but it would still be pretty amazing – plus it’s only a beta if anything. If all this pans out, perhaps we’ll see an updated feature set come along with the release version by… Ohh, we don’t know… 2013?

Thanks, Mark!

    I’ve never used a blackberry before, but what’s supposed to be so great about? I’ve only ever paid attention to the curve and that keyboard looks horrible.

    That’s not an upgrade at all. If it can successfully communicate with BB’s push email servers, that’s something, but the OS itself? For all of Windows Mobile’s ills, it’s WAY more extendable than BB OS.

    Perhaps BB messenger on an HTC device? That would be sick.

    BB messenger on my HTC would cool enough to be worth some money to me. Seems like some of this has been available for a while on individual WM devices using the old BB Connect. For some reason, I thought the new version would not be device limited.

    The fuze has a link to Blackberry connect on it, when I clicked on it, it takes me to HTC’s website, which just says “Coming Soon”. So, I dont think this is too farfetched.

    Anyone with the original fuze ROM should be able to confirm this, I modded mine to a custom ROM, so dont have the link anymore

    @Joe,

    How is this retarded? You get the benefits of push email and BlackBerry security on other hardware that you may like better…

    @Beezy,

    Do you mean this specific phone running the BB OS or the BB App Suite in general? I’m not sure about these specific images, but the BlackBerry Application suite does exist 100%, given a RIM press release from 2007 I just read.

    I fail to see what advantages it offers over MW. WM has the same functionality as BB, but far more flexible and configurable. It’s like cheering about upgrading from ‘09 Mercedes-Benz to ‘99 Toyota.

    did you guys forget the touch pro has 288 mb ram.. there is no lag or reset issues.. and thats stock running a custom rom with that much ram would make it at least as stable as a bb..

    Is this an actual addon app or maybe just a theme in disguise.
