OK, I have had this phone for a month and this week I finally got to play. I have been here for a while reading all the post, and most of the “How To’s” are for the Diamond and/or Pro? Matter fact, I cannot remember seeing any “How To’s” specifically for the Fuze. (Well, how to get rid of AT&T preloaded software)

So my question is: Are all these “How To’s” relevant to all these phones? Even if I go to HTC website, I see updates for the Diamond and Pro, but Fuze is not on that site. I do not want to do anything that makes the phone “unusable”

Sigh, Its like 4 months later and my lust for the X1 hasn’t decreased nor has its price…

I could easily just goto my AT&T store, but I can’t see myself getting the Touch Pro. I know I’d want to switch it out as soon as the Touch Pro 2 hits stores. The X1 however, is one of those devices that keeps you enamored for years.

The Fuze lacks SOUL!!!!

Although I appreciate the review, one of the biggest questions with these two phones wasnt even touched on. Having wifi or whether you’re just using 3g one of the biggest questions is whether this is 100% web capable. The iphone and most other phones can only display flash lite websites and limited javascript… nobody even designs sites in the versions these phones can view. So simple sites like myspace are half loaded on the device. This is a big reason to choose a phone with windows mobile and a more compatible web browser. So back tot he question at hand: Can you actually load a movie site and watch a streaming flash trailer or streaming music? Are both these devices 100% web capable?

Nice review, but you forgot to mention anything about the aGPS, quality af the media player, the fact that X1a have a 3,5mm jack for headphones.. etc.

I appreciated seeing this review, since I’ve been considering these exact two items myself, and believe that they are directly competitors in the minds of people who’d consider this kind of device.

I’m surprised, but after reading this review I poked around a little bit looking at other reviews and I find myself thinking I’m going to save the money and hang onto my E71.

People sure are quick to criticize the author. I’m definitely going with the Fuze. Even though HTC developed the X1, I’ve learned not to trust Sony. The fact that the X1’s have been recalled is reason enough not to.

I actually use the touch diamond and love it.
It has 640 x 480 screen and iphone only 320 x 240.
It can be use like a modem to connect your laptop anywhere you are with 3g.
It can use bluetooth stereo hifi earphones and iphone can´t do that.
The Fuze can handdle 32 gb micro sd hc memory and you can buy many of them, iphone has only 16 gb.
The fuze, diamond, HD, touch pro, etc, works fine with GPS anywhere you are because it use sattelital signals not antenna based systems.
The only thing the iphone wins (??) is in style and how it looks and that it comes with a larger screen but the HD comes with a largest screen and with 2x resolution.
And finally, the iphone has only 2 mp camera that can not be used like a camera. The diamond has 3.2 mp camera, the fuze or touch pro includes flash and the HD has 5 mp camera.

when will t mobs pull there head out and start releasing new phones? At&t is by far the best when it comes to new releases. i have been with t mobile since 1998. i am ready to jump ship to at&t.

I have the Fuze and so far I am really happy. I thought about returning it, if the X1 was coming to ATT. After this review I decided to keep it. WinMo OS is a love/hate relationship. I love all the programs I can add to it and tweaking I can do to it. Then I hate having to add all these programs to it to make it do everything I want, and having to tweak it to make it look/feel/perform/run how I want. TouchFlo is a pretty good interface for day to day stuff. My biggest complaints right now with the Fuze is the GPS sporadically works and Voice Command only half-ass works. Hopefully HTC/ATT creates a new ROM soon.

anyhow, the review seemed a bit biased (just my opinion) towards the fuze. i agree that both phones have some features better than the other, but the article seems to up-play (just a tad bit) the ones where the fuze betters the x1. the article mentioned an xda tweak for the fuze, but didn’t mention another xda tweak to port the touch flo 3d to the x1. just observations.

anyhow. i ‘ve had the x1 for over a month now, and if i had to do it all over again. i’d go with the fuze. spot on review.

Xperia was designed by Sony-Ericcson. It is a Sony-Ericcson phone. HTC just did what S-E told them to build.

If you don’t believe that, then explain how come the iPhone is from Apple, when they commisioned a manufacturer in Asia t built it.

BTW the touchflo 3D is not 3D is plain 2D and the Fuze touch is not responsive at all it is so frustrating. I just gave up on it.

okay so I have a X1i ( not the tested x1a) and a 3G iphone, I was never a WM user before this. I live in the Orange County,CA area and I get a HSDPA connection with my unlocked x1 which is awesome. I’m still trying to figure out the correct connection settings for medianet on my x1 but for the most part I like it a lot. Ease of use does not compare to the iphone but the x1 is a different beast of its own. If anyone know connection settings for att please let me know I would love the help figuring it out. contact me at abesne@gmail.com

To each their own. I’ve really gotten used to my Moto Q WinBlo. The only area I have an issue is with the file manager. Sometimes feels like i”vebeen dropped in some abandoned garage of pictures and albums laying all over the place. Fuze REALLY cleans this up and makes it easy to find what I’m looking for. A+++ for HTC on both models reviewed. I’d take Fuze for the better physical keyboard. Haven’t found a touchy-board that I can pound my thumbs on with any accuracy.
