Mystery hybrid phone pops up all over the Internets
We’re not quite sure what to make of this beast, but it’s all over the blogosphere and our guess is as good as any for now. It looks like a weird hybrid of a Helio Ocean, Palm Centro/Treo, Sony Mylo and touch of Open Moko. Judging by the unusual number of smudges on the screen, common sense points to a touchscreen / QWERTY combo. Your standard five-way toggle and smart buttons are there but when the T-swivel phone opens up, you see a mini-mouse pad and left and right mouse buttons. The keys look like the firm, bubbly keys we’d see on the Palm Centro or Treo Pro, which leads our buddy Dieter Bohn of TreoCentral to think that this might be the new “Roteo” that’s been in the rumor mill. Regardless of what this phone turns out to be, we’re afraid it’s going to be slapped onto our “do not want” list unless the final version gets some major tweaks.

That phone looks to be good for clubbing someone to death. Otherwise, on paper it looks promising. A treo with a large, high res screen but still retaining the qwerty keyboard in the familiar portrait layout. Oh wait, no doubt running windoze mobile *blech*
I’m still confused about how a touchpad could be useful on a touchscreen phone. Well I guess with Windows Mobile that isn’t at all designed for use with finger touches, perhaps they included the touchpad in lieu of a stylus (since Apple has trained everyone that a stylus is a sin).
I think I would like that. Anything has to be better than my Treo 755P. video chat on a mobile? Im interested.
I remember seeing this device a while ago (year maybe!) as an Intel MID reference design.
That would make sense because the website it’s from talks about the failure of UMPCs and MIDs.
That looks like a touchpad. Is this the extreme Windows 7 phone I’ve been hearing about?

Could it be the new Palm One that is supposed to be hitting Sprint in April? From my Sprint friend it’s supposed to be a touchscreen Palm device.
That thing is HUGE! No thank you – yet again.
I know people at Palm, and that’s not their next device.
