BlackBerry Curve 8900 finally shows its face on BlackBerry NA site

Now that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is finally official with our friends up north, RIM decided it should finally get around to providing some product info on its North American site. Sure, BGR readers have known just about everything there is to know about this sleek handset for months now but its always nice to see a highly-anticipated handset inch closer to becoming a reality in the US. Accessories have been up on the site for a while now but the addition of main product info pages, an interactive demo and more are sure to warm the hearts of North American BlackBerry addicts across the continent. So – if trading 3G for a smaller build and a 3.2 megapixel camera sounds like your cup of tea, hopefully a US carrier announcement isn’t too far off.

Thanks, Erik!

Does the ugly stepchild, Sprint, see the new Curve in the 1st half of ‘09?

Considering the old Curve didn’t launch too long ago, I’m guessing the answer is a big fat no.

Any rumors would be appreciated. I’m out of my contract and am weighing my options.

I am not sure I agree with this one. I do not think AT&T is pumping out millions in advertising on 3G to release a non 3G BB. I was told and still believe it is coming to T-Mo first. January being the date.

I’m in the same boat as you Addicted. I pay like $25 on Sprint, and I wont switch carriers for any phone. But I have yet to see any word on anything besides the Nextel BB.

I’m leaning towards HTC Diamond (no contract) and when Sprint decides to get a new one when ever that is, re-new my contract.

But as some have said, it might not even be the 8900 that Sprint gets. I’d love some insight from BB214 on anything Sprint related.

Att said they will not accept ANY non-3G phones which is why they wanted the Bold. Idk why the hell they would want this phone after making that statement. Are they that stupid? I still think T-Mobile will get it first. Even so The Pearl 8220 and Curve 8900 combined don’t make up for Verizon’s Storm and At&T’s Bold. Stupid T-Mobile sucks ass. I’m switching to Verizon. BG you said t-mo would get the Bold for sure man you were wrong like 80 percent of the u are anyways.

Wow, really? So that’s why there’s AT&T 8900s floating around in the wild. I think you should believe BB214. He’s been right before.

    @ Jobso
AT&T considers the 8900 an upgrade, not a totally new product. That’s how it gets past 3G-only rule.

I’m assuming by your tone you are a T-mo customer. My condolences.

OMG this is so messed up i can’t believe AT&T will get first they got the BOLD and Verizon has the STORM, which i dont care much for the storm TOUCH SCREEN isn’t my thing anyway. TMOBILE got the S**** end of the stick by choosing to get the FLIP. Is there a reason that At&T is getting this first??

I am a canadian Rogers customer – we got the 8900 earlier this week. Just picked mine up. Slick – very slick.

No 3G…but no matter for me. It’s so slim and the battery goes quick enough with the wifi and bluetooth running for a day.

i know this is my new device, i have the curve 8300, and i dont have a data plan, i just text. so this is essentially a cheaper bold for the people that dont want to shell out 399 to have 3G, when they wont use it. wifi is plenty enough for me :) …and the 3.2 mp camera makes it EVEN BETTER

Verizon needs this. They have a great network, and good coverage, but by far the worst selection of phone of any carrier…awful
