Metal Gear Solid coming to the Xbox 360 soon?
Konami sure knows how to cause a stir. An update to the official Konami’s Kojima Productions website seems to suggest that Metal Gear Solid may finally make its way to the Xbox 360. We will admit that this might be a bit of stretch but the black and green coloring of the symbol-filled website is reminiscent of the colors used to advertise the Xbox 360. The Universal symbol for Power, which is prominently displayed on the front of the Xbox 360, is now front and center on Konami’s website. Rumors that the Playstation exclusive title will jump ship to the Xbox platform have been floating around for a while now, so such an announcement is not completely unexpected. Wild speculation continues to run rampant though, with Kotaku interpreting the “i” to mean iPhone, DSi, or Wii. The upside down “i” is used in PSP-based Metal Gear Acid so the new announcement may be related to that game and not the console version, Metal Gear Solid. Kotaku also points out that the URL contains the phrase “mgst” which could mean Metal Gear Solid Touch? Konami has been silent on the matter saying that it does not comment on speculation and apologized for providing only the “standard line” as a response. All we can deduce with some degree of certainty is that Konami has something new on the horizon for the Metal Gear franchise and it wants everyone to start talking about it. We will happily oblige them. Any gamers out there? Feel free to chat this up in the comments – additional rampant speculation is not only welcome, it is expected.

utter bull crap i hate the 360 (only because it sucks) there is no way that they could port this game.
perhaps the power sign is intended to represent the pc that would make more sense, even than i wouldn,t look as good as the ps3.
Better bloody well not be!!!! Bad enough those f***s over at Square Enix decided to jump ship from Playstation exclusivity with 13!! If we lose Metal Gear as well, then….I mean what the hell is wrong with Sony, throw money at these people dammit!!!!
I’m a huge mgs fan
And if it means me playing another title
And addin that to the collection I don’t see why not
Now I can’t fucken wait….more info please!!!!
I don’t think putting MGS on the broke man’s ps3 will do anything revolutionary to the franchise. Defanite waist of time.
Old news is sure exciting.
It’s going to be on the Wii too!
Well if they hope to sell MGS in any numbers they will drop the silly PS3 exclusive restriction.
Makes absolutely no sence to mork on a game for years and never sell as many as possible because you released it on the worst selling console. Hell it would have made more money on the Wii or gamecube over the lowselling PS3.
mork = work.
no idea how that happened. lol
Notice how all the PS3 fanboys have miserable spelling and grammar. Porting the MSG franchise to the 360 would only do good. The 360 may be the broke man’s PS3, but in this economy, that’s a good thing. Konami wants to sell more games and make more money. You can’t blame them for that.
PS3 still has not taken off and how has it been out?
So what should a software company do?
Why risk it for Sony’s ass?
I’m not fan of either but definetly is not broke man’s PS3 and is doing much better then our fanboys hate to admit.
At least Konami is not a blind fanboy.
This one is interesting because the ONLY thing that points to 360 is the color green. The power symbol doesn’t necessarily do that, as PC’s use the same power symbol and it’s even the same one on the PS3.
The ‘i’ is probably the most interesting part because there has never been an “i” in any Metal Gear game. That sort of leads to iPod, iPhone, DSi or Wii. Konami also is no stranger to making handheld games, so it wouldn’t surprise me if it is in fact Metal Gear Solid Touch.
However, if it is the 360 version, will be interesting to see how they port it, because anyone that’s played through the entire first game will have noticed how heavily Apple and Sony sponsored that game is. Characters are using PSP’s, all the computer’s are Apple and there are a TON of PlayStation references in the game, including one very important one that’s tied to a particularly awesome boss battle that would be hard to edit out.
Either way, though, if it goes 360, a direct port would be lame. Hopefully, it would be something more like a Subsistence type deal where there’s some extra stuff or extra characters to play as.
Pfssh, I’m a PS3 fanboy, but I don’t find myself having horrible spelling and grammar (yes, I’m being extra careful now). If you’re looking for the younguns that go crazy not knowing what they’re typing, than every frickin’ system has “fanboys” that do that.
Anyway, I do think this is more for the iPod Touch, because the clues make more sense. Sony pushed a lot of Apple product placement in the game too, so its possible that there’s some sort of collaboration there.
True, Konami has been wanting a 360 port themselves for further sales, but it’s going to take a lot more effort than a tradition port since, you know… the controller Snake is using to control Mark II is a PS3 controller.
Sony really needs to start hurdling money and quit playing around. This is getting ridiculous
Whoa! I’ve gotta put my 2 cents in on this one! Xbox = poor man’s PS3? I’m sorry. That’s just ignorant. I own both, yet my PS3 sits and gathers dust. Despite better hardware, there is no game for PS3 except for MSG4 that reqiures me to boot the thing up. Now that they are jumping ship, it gives me an excuse to sell it to your little sister. Sorry Sony fanboys, you’re defending territory that no one even cares about.
my moneys on the PC as well they mad pc varient for 1 and 3 widh they made em for 3 and 4 an jus bundled it into an entire collection it’s easy to port em too becaus thay are drictx based
mgs1 for the pc take up about 1.5-1.6 gigs of disk space MGS@ 10-11 gigs give or take for disk saves an assumiuming you r going to writ the whol game to you disk an not read form the install media
that sumbla is also used on blacberry power buttons too
Reading Galvatron’s posts is like deciphering code for the NSA.
I love it.
LMAO @ TRV$, it DAMN sure is…
You can never pass through one of his sentences and not go back and reread like, “WTF was that supposed to say?”
Is nothing exclusive to the PS3 anymore?
Seriously, I can’t think of one title/franchise besides MGS.
If Konami does port the franchise over to XBOX I will lose all respect for the games.
PedroTheGoat: AMEN you took the words out of my mouth. I own both too and my PS3 just gathers dust. My nephew came over fot Thanksgiving and was suprised to find a dusty black shiny thing under my flatscreen. I swear I try to give PS3 a came but most of the games that are multiplatform are better on Xbox. I got the orginal 60 GB ps 3 when it was like $700, since then I bought Resistance, Resistance 2, MGS4, and GR2 out of pity. I have like 3 Blueray movies because I don’t see the huge difference esp. sonce most movies are not shot in HD( blu ray can’t change the orginal film). Meanwhile back at the ranch, my xbox has tons of titles, in the last 2 months Fable 2, gears 2, Fallout 3(because of the DLC) etc. Ifs funny to here PS3 fanboys call 360 a broke man’s PS3 when they are too boke to buy one and stop coming on bogs to bash what they don’t have because anyone with both will tell you the get a lot more burn from 360.
09′ is lookin good for video games. Even though the ps3 is superior in hardware, the games is what matters most. Xbox is your daddy.
lol
Broke man’s PS3.
I’ve purchased 3 Xbox 360s and 2 Wiis and given most away as gifts. I obviously can afford a PS3 but I am too smart to pay $500 for the privlage to play MGS4, Resistance, Resistance 2 and Little Big Planet.
The only reason the PS3 sold any units is because people assumed it would be as dominate as the PS2 was.
Have fun supporting the new Sega
th subol looks like it’s for blackberrys too that symbol is what they use fpr the power buttons
BTW im amazed the NSA or cia hvn’t hired me yet lol
@ Chris
Your respect for the franchise is based on what console the games are on and not the actual games themselves…pathetic.
