BlackBerry Storm shows us where it was born, we meet its maker

What happens when the assembly team up in Waterloo forgets to delete some test pictures on a BlackBerry Storm? Well, usually that person who bought the phone will notice the left-behind photosnap and send it into BGR! If anyone remembers the cute Asian chick in the iPhone factory fiasco, this is basically the same drill. We’re told that this picture was left on a production BlackBerry Storm purchased from Verizon. While it doesn’t expose too much, it gives us a nice little view into how these puppies are tested, boxed, and shipped. Ya’ box ‘em, and then ya’ ship ‘em. Any questions? First, I…? Larger picture is after the jump!
Thanks, LT!

The best part is, I’m the guy w/ the gloves on in the top left.
the second best part is; I’m taking the picture. the third best part is…I haven’t made it that far, but I will update when I do.
I love how they feel the need to write Red Green Blue above the big Red Green and Blue rectangles.
Ms Doubtfire was a great movie lol. Great reference BG
@ Stanley
I thought that was kinda weird too but then I thought “Oh, that must be for the color blind”. Then I said “WAIT! Why would they have people who are color blind conducting the color test for the cameras?!?” LOL
This is stupid.
All well and good. But does bgr know when the Bold will hit Verizon?
The storm is great for kids and housewives, but the hard core emailers like myself need a physical keyboard and my curve is getting a bit long in the tooth. Thanks for any info you can gather bg.
“Hey Steve, the screen ain’t clickin’ right! It’s not highlighting where I touch it, either! What’s up with the accelerometer? Ahh, he ain’t listening, I’m gonna ship these out anyway.”
@Marc Flores Lol sooooo funny. I was really laughing my ass off reading that. =P
What’ll they do next..write “caution: hot” on cups of coffee…oh wait they already do that.
@oldbluebox oh yea that was a real ‘LMAO’ moment right there…
I need a quick rant on the Storm. All of my friends and all of my girlfriend’s friends know that I am a Blackberry nut. I of course hyped to all of them to get a Storm if they were with Verizon. STUPID mistake for me. Now it seems like everyday I’m on the phone with one of them for about 3 hours explaining how to install .75. Explaining that their battery may suck because of the manufacturer. Etc. Etc. Etc.
I don’t even own one of these bastard phones! I’m with Sprint for Gods sake! Why the hell am I on the phone 3 hours everyday helping people try to fix the botched launch! RIM has kinda hurt my feelings this time around. I wonder if they would compensate me for all the time I’ve spent trying to fixed their abortion of a phone? Argh.
There’s my rant. Screw the camera test! The fucker barely works!

too bad for you. my storm is awesome. your friends must be retards
I’m sorry to be another bearer of good news but my Storm is great also. It was good with .65 and even better with .75. Sorry, that I won’t be calling you for support Pedro. lol.
Well I must admit. Nearly everyone I’ve helped hasn’t been extremely intellegent. If they have a problem they would rather just call me instead of typing a question into Google.
Glad you guys are having a smooth ride though.
@perdo
one word… crackberry, we’ll help them over there
@ Pedro
I’m just curious, what problems did they have?
Phillip St., Waterloo! Been in that plant many times….
I have heard nothing but bad things about the Storm. I finally got mine on Monday and have had not had any problems what so ever with it lagging or the camera phone. It even switches very rapidly from portrait to landscape. It is still ran on .65 so I don’t know why it runs so well. I must have gotten super lucky or something. This is a great phone…
i hate to be the geek to say it, but they put the name of the color above the color so that when the camera malfunctions and doesn’t pick up the colors correctly you’ll know which one(s) it’s messing up on.
Hey dumb dumbs the color bar and words are for someone to take a picture via storm and validate the color sequence’s are correct on the camera. Wake up and smell the cofee its basic device testing for high volume QA controls to make sure the camera is working per spec.
They are still using XP on their machines…
yes they are
they seem to be part of the more intelligent community who haven’t upgraded to the terrible OS called Vista.
@BGR
what cute asian chick fiasco??? I can’t find it at all. bring back the cute asian chick!
@ Peter…thank you for clarifying that for the intuitive-deprived. I was about to reply to Stanley, Blaxx & Michael with the same response.
