BlackBerry Storm shows us where it was born, we meet its maker

What happens when the assembly team up in Waterloo forgets to delete some test pictures on a BlackBerry Storm? Well, usually that person who bought the phone will notice the left-behind photosnap and send it into BGR! If anyone remembers the cute Asian chick in the iPhone factory fiasco, this is basically the same drill. We’re told that this picture was left on a production BlackBerry Storm purchased from Verizon. While it doesn’t expose too much, it gives us a nice little view into how these puppies are tested, boxed, and shipped. Ya’ box ‘em, and then ya’ ship ‘em. Any questions? First, I…? Larger picture is after the jump!

Thanks, LT!

I’m glad to read some positive things about the Storm. I’ve been reading all the reviews since it came out and was disappointed. I went to Best Buy today and they had plenty in stock but I just couldn’t get myself to buy it yet. ($199 plus free $49 headset) I don’t have a blackberry yet but have wanted one for a while.
Maybe I’ll go back this week and get it. Would love to hear some more positives if anyone has some!

What if the POS camera takes a picture and all the colors are distorted and you forward the information over to somebody else.. should you have to explain and take the time out to say yeah the left bar is red etc…

It’s weird how they’re wearing blue lab coats like there’s chemical spillage warnings

They have the names above the color to test coloring for the camera. If the camera is off, and the green looks blue, then the only way to tell if it was green is with the word ‘green’ above it.

interesting look inside the factory, even though you don’t see much.

seems like a good quality camera too.

the knowing which colors which logic from some of you is stupid, but from some more logical. its deffinitly not labeled for the person taking the picture, if he looks up and the colors don’t match I think he would know without the labels. I also think it is funny how over speculated this picture has become on the BGR comments section. but hey our feedback is usually half of the entertainment here.

Mrs Doubtfire, Great movie, but the actual quote after ‘any questions’ is:

    “So after I box em…”

    “You ship em, smart @$$”

    LOL

    Somnalia says:

The first batches are built in Canada to track and fix manufacturing process problems. Once the issues are fixed, subsequent orders are processed in other manufacturing facilities.
