Verizon Wireless Samsung Omnia unboxing
While everybody else was out battling the crowds on Black Friday, we at BGR, well at least one of us, was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Verizon’s latest and greatest smartphone, the Samsung Omnia. We unboxed this beauty and took a few quick snapshots of the Verizon branded Omnia for you to drool over. So far, the Omnia does not disappoint. It is responsive, has an excellent camera interface, and that optical mouse is just awesome. Joining the Omnia in our repertoire of current phones is the HTC Touch Pro and the Samsung Saga making it a Verizon Wireless Windows Mobile threesome. What do you do when you have the three latest smartphones from Big Red? You pit them against each other to see which mobile machine reigns supreme. For all you guys that want to sync and recharge while listening to music, why don’t you just get a pair of bluetooth headphones? if you are on ac power (or usb cable charge) what’s the gripe?

Does anyone know if the Omnia you buy at the verizon store actually has wifi? The Verizon customer service guys say it does not have wifi?!?
Yes, it has Wifi.
And I think the Boy Genius needs to learn the definition of a “week”…

Is the head-to-head-to-head review still going to happnen? At this point, I’ve pretty much given up hope. But I hope I’m wrong, because I really want to see how the three new Verizon Windows Mobile phones compare to each other.

I returned my Omnia to Verizon this morning. After 30 days spent trying to make this a useful companion I gave up. A friend with an iphone and I sat in my office surfing side by side. No comparison man, the Omnia sucks. The auto focus sucks, the widgets suck. It constantly rolls over from wifi to Verizon broadband, that sucks. Maybe I should have kept it and just carried it in my pocket.
Now I’m waiting for the BB with wifi to hit.
so is this phone 3g then or would the blackberry storm be a faster for web browsing?
