Nokia E71 in stock at Rogers
It’s pretty clear someone forgot to tell Rogers that this weekend was a huge retail event in the US, not up in Canada. First we get word that Rogers quietly released the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and now we learn that the carrier has also made the Nokia E71 available for order via telelsales. What’s more, it is available for a very reasonable $99.99 CAD with a less than reasonable 3-year contract and a combined voice / data plan of $45 or more. Sure we knew it was coming but we had no idea today would turn out to be such a huge day for the Canadian carrier. We can only hope AT&T’s E71x will be priced similarly. So while people here in the US are rushing around and fighting over the last discounted toilet scrubber over at Wal-Mart, our pals up north are trying to decide between two of the sexiest QWERTY handsets to be released this year.

1st!

That’s quite an accomplishment.
That’s really strange. Rogers is releasing two of the ’smartest’ QWERTY smartphones on the planet from two giant companies like RIM and Nokia and they didn’t say a single word about it?! Nonsense!
Ya it just goes to show u how goofy this corporation is.
Not even a spot on am680 news that every corporater listens too at one point or another throughout the day. Sad. But im actually warming up to the Curve 2.0 cause it’s got a bigger screen than the bold. I like that.
New Curve 8900, has a smaller, but slightly higher resolution, than the wider screen Bold.
But as the improved camera and smaller size are more important to me than the Bold’s 3G, I will be getting the BB Curve 8900.
Come on kid stop teasing us already and give it away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As of yesterday morning the E71 was “back ordered”. Probably be a couple of weeks before anyone in Canada has one in their hands.
Rogers is the worst for device launches.
Can’t complain about the $99 ($149 -$50 rebate) hardware upgrade promo though!
I know it’s a trivial problem, but why does Nokia insist on making their keyboards with the ZXCVBNM row shifted over one letter to the left.
If a person is quick with a keyboard, they sort of expect the keys to line up similar to their desktop machine.
Almost every other device manufacturer gets it right.
And they added USB CHARGING !!!!!!
Thank you Nokia
Also the Exchange 2007 Mail works AMAZING.
I finally picked one up from Rogers over the weekend. $49.99 on a 3 yr contract. This phone is great!
back ordered/not available yet via Rogers web site, but trickling into stores . . . went into one for a Crackberry or HTC Diamond but came out with the E71 — which I didn’t know existed . . . glad I waited until today to upgrade.
Im trading my Iphone3G for this, and i know its gonna be worth it… no more glitches
