BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip free at Best Buy

If you’ve been aching for a new BlackBerry Pearl Flip phone but you didn’t want to plop down a few hundred dollars for it, this may be your week. We don’t have all the details on this, but it’s clear from the advertising that Best Buy is offering the Pearl 8220 for free - obviously with a new contract, but we’re not sure if there are any mail-in rebates involved (it’s not shown in the photo, just price after a sign up). This photo was snapped by one of our ninjas in the San Francisco Bay Area so it might be a regional promotion, too. Either way, it doesn’t hurt to check your local Best Buy to see if they’re offering the same promotion. Being out of contract as a “free agent” is certainly nice during this time of year when everything is being offered dirt cheap, or free as it is in this case, when you sign the dotted line for a new 2-year.

Thanks, Roger A!

What is everyone’s deal about?? So what if he’s posting ads? It’s his blog, and plus, it’s useful for the people who’ve been wanting a new phone, whether it be this one or another one.

It’s an awesome deal that you would pass around by word of mouth too. This word of mouth just happens to be visual.

Its not an ad for Best Buy, T-Mobile, and BGR you guys…

I think the point is the economy sucks enough that a brand new semi-awesome phone thats a BlackBerry FLIP is offered FREE, normally from $400… its kinda good news.

Anyway, I see a lot of people picking this thing up on Black Friday (which I think is racist jk). Id pick up one but I just got my BB CURVE BABY!!!!

Under the Free it says after Instant Savings which would mean no mail in rebate.

I’m an employee for Best Buy Mobile, and no, there is no rebate. The little 1 by the instant savings goes to the disclosure at the bottom of the page stating that “Instant Savings on phones require activation through Best Buy on new lines of service with 2-Year agreement on each line.”

Best Buy doesn’t believe in rebates, it’s all about straightforward pricing, as in the price you see is the price you get. :-)

Also, that ad is only good until today…then the Black Friday ad will be released tomorrow. So, hurry down to Best Buy today for your free flip.

Oh, and also, only certain parts of the country got the ad with the Free T-Mobile, like the Seattle Areas (And obviously whatever region BG is in…) However, my area only has the Samsung Instinct where the T-Mobile phone is featured. Makes us here in Missouri sad.

For those of you unwilling or unable to wait in line at Best Buy, T-Mobile corporate stores will usually price match any print ads, such as these. For new activations, anyway. (Upgrades can only be matched by customer care/loyalty department.)
As a bonus, the customer would still qualify for the $50 mail-in rebate, actually making $50 profit on the purchase.
(they may tell you otherwise at random tmo store #4080, but as 5 year tmo vet I promise its true.)

I’m not sure what the issue is here… we’re being paid to post this? Negative. Best Buy sent us that picture above? Negative. We’ll always be completely open about advertisements here, and this no exception. There’s never been an advertiser who has influenced our editorial. In fact, we’ve pissed quite a few of them off when they’ve ran campaigns and we have taken jabs at their companies.

Just so EVERYONE knows… I SENT IN THE PIC because its a NEW PHONE, its NEAR BLACK FRIDAY, the ECONOMY SUCKS, and with all the Bold, Storm and Javelin getting attention, I sent it in to let people know that “FREE” for a BRAND NEW MODEL phone that normally goes for $150 on contract is a STEAL.

So if you wanna blame people.. BLAME ME! Jesus Fricken Christ!!!
