New Pantech Duo 2 images and documents spotted on FCC site

It looks like the successor to the somewhat-famous Pantech Duo might be making its way out to the public soon. The dual slider is the less bulky alternative to the Helio Ocean, but the first version didn’t receive the accolade the Ocean did. Hopefully the second coming, also known as the C820 (which looks a lot like its MVNO-carried cousin), will prove to be a success. If you’d like to know what this new offering from Pantech has to offer, here are a few specs to get you going:

  • Windows Mobile 6.1
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • Video recording
  • Bluetooth
  • MicroSD expansion slot
  • Dual-band 850/1900 GSM/EDGE/WCDMA

No word on release, pricing, or carrier availability yet. From the looks of the draft manual, and the fact that the first version appeared on AT&T, we’re thinking it’s going with the boys in blue again. The device looks pretty sweet and if it’s solid as Pantech’s Ocean and slim and light as the first Duo, the Korean company will have another winner on their hands.

Why is this Dual band? AT&T is not going to pick this up unless it’s quad band.

The Duo was the biggest POS ever created. All of our customers hate them and the just magically stop working all of the time. I can’t believe they’d make another one.

I wished Nokia would implement their double slide patent like this one. I’m not a Pantech fan, but love the form factor and text entry versatility.
