I saw the Kindle 2 in the wild today. I live in Seattle and a passenger on my commuter bus had one. It looks pretty sleek and clean.

Yeah color screens are definitely a must for students, especially with scientific diagrams.

Still, I can’t deny that it would be very cool to have one of these instead of lugging around 4 books for a class!

I thought color, for illustrations and charts etc., was considered mandatory for a ebook reader targeted at students?

From previous readings, I can’t imagine color e-ink screens are ready for mass production yet.

Enough with the fancy electronic phones, BGR! Keep on the Kindle2! I have and love a Kindle1, but I was considering giving a Kindle or two as gifts this season, so it would be nice to know if the thing would be superseded almost as soon as its unwrapped.

The student bigscreen is an interesting concept. Given my age and eyesight, I like to have more screen when I can (I have one of thos massive bricktop laptops with a 20+ display) so I would definately consider the larger version. But I’ve gotten used to the size and the ability to switch font size around on the original.
