Motorola QA30 QWERTY slider shots leaked, headed to Alltel
No it’s surely not the Alexander we’re all waiting to hear more about, kind of, but it looks like Motorola has a QWERTY slider in store for us by way of Alltel. The bad news is that it won’t be home to Android, Windows Mobile or any other smart OS. The good news is that, umm, it could have really good battery life thanks to a dumb OS and a 65K color screen, maybe? Specs, Jeeves:
-
1x-EVDO connectivity
-
2.5 inch TFT display with 320 x 240 pixels and 65K colors
-
Threaded messaging
-
Full HTML browser
-
Facebook access
-
Email, IM
-
3.5mm headset jack (nice!)
-
Stereo Bluetooth 2.0
-
USB 2.0
-
2MP camera
-
MicroSD / MicroSDHC card support, up to 32GB
The QA30 surely won’t be winning any races, or design awards, or performance contests, or beauty pageants – but it may well be a welcome addition to the Alltel lineup. Beyond that, it may be a rare case of Alltel being the first to get its mitts on a new handset. Or, it may be that we just haven’t seen leaks out of the other carriers signed on for the QA30.

Wow… didn’t know this was a leak… I’ve had the dummy model in my store for like 2 weeks.
Looks like a Blitz, except not as pretty…
I don’t know why they make sliders in that format… I mean, if you’re going to go slider, why not go the other way and have a more spacious keyboard?
This phone had better come out soon or there won’t be an Alltel for it to go to…
keyboard looks ugly
Its also coming to US Cellular. There’s a pic of it in the holiday catalog.
I think it is a good news that it will not be a home of Android. I’d much rather have a WM device.
hello world, it doesn’t have win mobile.
Way to be Moto – looks just like the VZW Blitz…
want this fugly pos supposed to be the moto alexander? or something like that with 8mp cam. and nvidia graphics
Moto makes the best keyboard by far. Put a slim qwerty slider with Android on AT&T and sign me up.
It will cost $119.99 on USCC with new activation or eligible upgrade…:D
Yeah, Alltel and USCC seem to be having a second-string, silent(especially USCC; they don’t announce anything) cold war with feature phones recently.
@EPS
Personally I prefer the keyboard in this orientation. I HATE wide horizontal keyboards like the one on the Tilt because the wider keyboard means more key travel with your thumbs translates to slower typing and inability to type one handed quickly. I can type 10x faster with my BlackBerry Curve than I ever could with my Tilt just because my finger doesn’t have to travel as much. When your fingers are moving quickly … yes the keyboard travel matters.
Is it touch screen does anyone know???
no
