Verizon TS tells me you MUST buy dataplan with Omnia as wifi isdisabled without it. Does anyone know of a way to enable it? VZW are deeks.

ronin- the low screen resolution is also what bugs me. I can’t figure out why they would make such a good phone with such a low screen resolution. But I’m still getting it right when it comes out.

Yes Jumper it will have an accelerometer.I already cancelled my storm order for the Omnia. The only thing I am concerned about is the screen resolution. 240 X400 is kind of low.I don’t understand why Samsung did not incorporate the asian T*Omnia screen at 800X600. Mind bogling but at least VZ omnia runs on 3G and WiFi … Way worth it!

Brad – thanks for your questions, and I was wondering the same. Is the first time that we can order the Omnia online/on the phone on November 26th? Will the Verizon phone sales reps be able to see it in their computer system (when I called the 800 number, they didn’t know anythng about it).

After using my friend’s Samsung Instinct (LOVED it), and trying to use the Blackberry Storm (didn’t like it), I’m really looking forward to the Omnia.

I wonder if the Dec 8 date was decided in part to give more time to get the Storm’s fw issues resolved? Enough time to update the firmware at least once to keep Storm users and reviewers happy so they don’t jump ship for the Omnia? With so much riding on the Storm by VZW and BB, I suspect this is a very real possibility…

I wish more companies released decent WM phones. I am quite disappointed with my HTC Touch – from wrinkled plasticy-looking screen, to poor built quality and 20-hours standby time (vs. 200 hours promised in the HTC brochure), I am having second thoughts about buying any HTC product in the future.

There has been word on wi-fi. It will have it. It will also have the FM transmitter.

Personally I am gonna look hard at this and Storm. Both have a lot of features I like. See how to OS oon the Storm is moving Dec. 8th.
