Did you get your Verizon BlackBerry Storm?
We’ve done a quick check at around 10 Verizon corporate stores in the NY/NJ area with most of them reporting lines longer than they have stock for. That means there’s going to be 1.) A ton of pissed off people, and 2.) More pissed off people who won’t get their unit until tomorrow mid-day or possibly Tuesday. We want to know your experience, and if you did manage to snag a Storm (you lucky dog, you), we want to hear your first impressions! We also have reports that some stores are only selling to brand new Verizon customers and not doing any upgrades, which if true, is pretty disgusting. Hit us up in the comments and help out your fellow BlackBerry addicts, ok? If you just got one but there’s no line at your local store and they have some stock left, share the weath! Plus, if you’ve got a major issue you want to report, you can always hit me on the hip!
Verizon is pissing me off more and more lately. As much as I dont want to go to AT&T its getting hard for me not to make the switch.

Went to my store in saginaw Michigan at about 915 and had no problem getting mine. They had 25 units and I got number 10.

Have my STORM played with for an hour now AND LOVE IT! As for store situation: Went to the Buckhead store in Atlanta and they had TONS of units and people everywhere. I was curious to see who was buying, so I looked at people in line and noticed many Iphone customers, myself included. All phones coming out of this store had .65 software. Maybe my opinion will change, but for now I absolutely LOVE it! I increased key rate to highest and enabled Java as recommended at store… My two cents… Now back to playing with my Storm!
What Version Does Everyone Have??? 4.7.0.61, 4.7.0.65, or higher???
Go to OPTIONS and under ABOUT it reads the Version 3rd line down.
My local store got 20 but said more arriving at noon. My buddy is on his way there now. Manassas VA.
So I just went to my local Verizon store here in Bellingham MA. All systems are down, they can’t take any orders and I was told on Tuesday, that every store will be getting limited supplies, yet today I am told that no store got any, its order and they will ship it to me.
So that is great. When can I get one? “Well right now they are saying the 25th, but with the entrire New England’s network being down, that may be pushed out”
So much for “Its the newtork” huh?
Poughkeepsie, NY- was 8th in line and was in and out. Use my upgrade from an 8703 to the Storm and i love it.
I was at my corporate Verizon store in Summerville, SC at 6:00 am this morning. Was first in line to get a Storm. Store only had 11 units initially. Upgraded from a Curve. Phone was $99 after discounts.
waited in line and went to play with it while waiting after playing with it i walked out of store. it was HORRIBLE!! i would rather have my crappy curve then suffer with the storm. everything was soo difficult from typing to adding cc to dilang names on phone instead of just #, dont do it!!
picked up my device this morning and am really enjoying the unit. clickable screen is great and immproves typing accurary . in terms of the lag, while slightly noticeable at times, isn’t bad and will be fixed shortly.

Denver,CO…got to the store at 6:30 this morning. Store opened at 7. 6th in line. They had 18 units in the store. SCORE. So far this phone rocks.
Just left a V store in Deptford NJ after waiting with 20 other people in line for over 2 hours. The system was down the whole time and they were only able to activate 1 customers account during the 2 hours.
waited on line in vestal, ny from 7-8:30 and then waited for an hour for them to try and put my account up for an upgrade. systems froze, i was told that they would give me a call. i have gone to class and am currently waiting impatiently for the system to fix itself before i have to leave town at 2pm.
I got to the store in Hanover, MA at 5:40 this morning (I usually leave for work at 5 so I hung around home for a while) and was the only one there until around 7. By the time the store opened at 8, there were 20 people in line. Probably another 40 or so came after they opened. They had 60 to sell.
I got my phone and have only messed with it a little but I like it alot. I had an iPhone and loved it but couldn’t stand AT&T’s network. This phone is not quite as easy to use as the iPhone but I think the Verizon network is going to more than make up for the “flaws” the Storm has compared to the iPhone. I think typing in landscape mode is easier than with the iPhone. I always seem to hit a lot of wrong keys with the iPhone but the Storm has been pretty accurate so far. I like the phone itself better than the iPhone.
Got to VZW store 15 min before opening, they only had 10 and I was 13th. Then went to a Circuit City that has a VZW store was the first one in there but they will only sell to new customers. That is not how you treat existing customers.

Interesting how bad Verizon and Blackberry have messed up this launch. Low quantities, long lines, seems like most stores are only selling to new customers, store computer crashes… I guess you will no longer be able to rip on us for how both iPhone lauches went

Rolled into Surprise, AZ’s Verizon store at seven when they opened. Put my name down and grabbed the last one. Was in and out in about thirty minutes. The rep said that they received 30 units, however, the manager came over to the rep and said that they “Couldn’t find 10″ WTF?!Im assuming someone was holding some aside or something shaddy. Cause that really doesn’t make any since!
all VZW stores are soldout in vegas…just effing wonderful!

got to my local store in Palatine, IL at 7:15am. they hadnt received their shipments yet and gave me the voucher for today and i am #1 out of 5 units. they stated that they generally receive their shipments at 10:30-11:00….just went back at 11:30 and they still dont have it in. now i am sitting in my car in the parking lot and waiting to see the fedex truck…..WOOPS Looks like it just showed up.
