Tmobile will not be getting either the bold or the storm as of Now. Tmobile execs denied the Bold when it was offered to them , the earliest they could get the phone hypothetically would be in february due to ATT exclusivity deal, but they are still showing no interest in the bold. As for the storm, a GSM version is in the works, tmobile may be in the running for it but you wont see that till end of Q1 maybe Q2 at the earliest. As of now ATT is the only US company that will receive the storm on GSM however that could change

as far as sprint goes, im sorry but they don’t sell nearly enough units to enough customers for the company to give priority to their carrier. everyone is working hard to have the full line of new blackberry’s out with no glitches by years end, as of now the top carriers which are repsonsible for highest sales will have priority on shipment

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for you tmobile customers. There is no doubt that Tmobile is pushing the G1 for the holidays and I don’t think they want any other phone to crossover in sales. Corporate execs at Tmobile are the ones that chose the January release date for Tmobile. There is no 60 day exclusivity contract for either carrier from what I’ve heard. At&t is pushing this phone through in spite of the bold release being less than a month before since the curve 8900 is just considered an update as opposed to an actual competitor in Bold’s sales.

I wonder what Sprints deal is with RIM? Why cant they seem to be working on a newer BB? I’ve always had a Treo, but wanted to try a BB. I have such a great plan that I cant switch carriers, so I wait. A magnum would be sweet since its the closest thing to a treo with qwerty and a touch screen. Love that form factor and could possibly try a BB with no touch screen, but by that time, Sprint may have an even newer Palm besides the Treo Pro. And if it’s with the newer OS, it could be a killer phone.

Sprint is a long ways away from getting the curve 8900. Id say Q2 at the earliest, maybe Q3.

Almost all of us here at corporate/factory have the Storm, Bold and Curve 8900 (Aka Javelin as we still call it here). Id say 80 percent of us use the Curve 8900 over the storm and bold. 1) the curve 8900 form factor is much more convenient than the bold and most of us here feel its a better looking phone than the bold. 2) the storm has the same form factor as the 8900 however it lacks the physical qwerty keyboard (its much easier to punch out emails on the curve 8900 than it is on the storm) + it has a better resolution due to pixel density (the screen is the sharpest looking display out on ANY phone). Also most of us here use the company wifi connection anyways, so 3g is used at a minimal for most of us. Its up to your personal preferences. They are all great phones. I wouldnt discount the curve 8900 before you see it. You’ll change your mind after you have a physical hands on with the device im sure.

Tmobile will get it and not too far back as everyone thinks…I dont think a month longer is a long wait. Its a great device and its worth waiting for. if you’re that antsy about getting the curve 8900 you can always buy the at&t version and unlock it. Sorry if I bursted anyones hopes and dreams…

Have you people ever used a flip? It is an awesome device. I’ve used a bold, a storm, curve, and pearl 2. Basically every phone in production and the flip is by far my favorite. With the exception of the 8900. I may be
Biased because of SureType but its a solid form with a beatiful look. Deff a sexy phone, and my current.

I don’t think they could have given away the Flip. That thins is horrible. Wrong design and even worse execution. They should have never brought that to market. I don’t know what RIM was thinking. Totally dropped the ball on that one and I don’t think it should be any indication of T-mobile as a carrier.

being a T-mobile man myself i too am waiting for this one, however, T-Mobile US did get the “kickstart” aka the Pearl Flip first, albeit the worst idea in blackberry history from it’s inception… so we were actually first in line. Thankfully t-mobile will let you keep your full upgrade eligibility even after you renew a contract. We may be looking at a 60 day wait on top of ATT if bb214 is correct…
