The Storm is absolutely the worst phone I have EVER had. I am now on my fifth one and it still screws up. The square of death, the missed calls, the poor design. Verizon can have the damn thing. Do yourself a favor. I give a crap what they say. DO NOT BY A STORM… Version one or two…You have been warned.

I got the BB storm early this month. So far I love it, the only con. that I found is the keybord, but after a few days I managed to learn to use it. When I first got it, I was thinking in returning it and go back to my Palm phone. I’m glad that I did not do it. I love my Storm.

Use the 30 day return period to make your own choice. Most of the people who hate the storm are former iphone users who insist on comparing them. They are differentb phones with different tupes of touch screens.

If you like the OS but don’t like the touch screen then exchange it for the tour. If blackberry isn’t for you then try something different such as the envtouch. Go into a regular verizon store and play with the live phones not just the dummy units.

I have just read the review on the Storm to my disappointment, because I am a Quest user, but now have to switch to Verizon as you are no doubt aware. I was told by some friends to order the Storm, as they like it. This is what I did today as I switched over to Verizon Wireless. It will cost me $ 87. with rebate. I’ve never had a smart phone before. My latest is the Quest Sanyo KATANA phone. I hate it for its poor audio quality, and difficulty in texting.
Did I buy the wrong phone? (The Storm?) Thanks for the info!

Two of my friends bought the storm in March 2009. They HATE it. The Storm BARELY functions as a phone with Verizon. They have complained to me that the phone doesn’t ring MOST of the time, causing them multiple missed calls. Usually, the Storm rings the INSTANT a call has been missed, but not before then. Sometimes when they power up the phone, the radio signal for the voice call operations doesn’t automatically start, so they don’t receive ANY calls until they manually turn on the radio. They have experienced MANY dropped calls and garbled conversations while using bluetooth headsets and/or the speakerphone. Taking pictures takes 5 or 6 seconds between the time when you push the picture button and when the phone actually takes a picture, meaning by the time the phone takes a picture, you’ve probably missed the shot you wanted. They have software version .75. What a mistake!

The BB storm is the worst phone ever! Everything is slowwwwwww. It freezes up from time to time. Internet browser is so bad, i dont even use it. To answer a call, I have to hit the answer key like 4 times for it to actually pick up. The key pad is slow, inaccurate, i dont even like to text anymore. I had a old palm treo that blows this phone out of the water! One of the worst things is that the battery might keep a charge for 24 hrs if im lucky. Dont buy this phone!!!!

I messed around with this phone for about an hour in the Verizon store. I had a really tough time using it. It was hard for me to hit the right buttons, key in text, etc. I just didn’t think it came anywhere close to the stunning Iphone. I don’t have an Iphone since I’m a Verizon customer. I’ll wait until Verizon sells them.

Nice. Insult your readers. I’ll sure they’ll rush right back to get your opinion. I have WiFi on my current smartphone. I don’t use it. EVDO coverage is available wherever I go, and meets my needs just fine.

Might some people need it? Sure. I don’t. If that makes me dumb… I guess I’ll just have to accept it.

I tried getting the code from Verizon, but the refused everytime
so i researched and found them to be the best

I love my BlackBerry! I’m just a 16 year-old using a phone made for a person with a busy life but teens too can use it. I can write reports and essays on the word to go app and make slideshows and mail them to my teachers. This phone is great and by far the best I’ve had.

sometimes when i recieve texts messages my alert sound doesn’t go off. the led indicator is flashing but i never heard the sound… why is that ???

I have a storm with Verizon and right now I am having a strange problem with videos not loading. Even the clip that was pre-loaded on the phone. It was playing mp4 videos just fine. Does anyone have an idea? I have deleted and reloaded the movies removed microSD and the pre-loaded movies still would not play.

I ordered mine the day they came out, it replaced the Q, which I can complain alot about. I’ve found the Storm to be pretty powerful device with great graphics/sound/video abilities and a great phone.

I had the storm for about 3 weeks now and i am happy with the many functions it has. I am however very disappointed with the battery life. Like you indicated, the battery is fully charged in the morning and by afternoon its dead around 5. It happened to me also and I made absolutely zero phone calls. I only sent 20-25 text messages.

COMPLETELY disagree with the build quality being good.

I went through FOUR of these in a month.

The first one rattled like crazy as soon as I took it out of the box. The screen was VERY loose. The phone sounded like a pedometer, clacking around with the slightest movement.

I received the SECOND Storm 2 days later. Within 3 weeks, the call button came loose.

I received the THIRD Storm and within 4 days, the call button came loose on that one too!

Within 3 days of receiving the FOURTH Storm, the screen came loose and started clacking around on that one too!

You say it’s built like a tank. I say it’s built like a pedometer. It’s disturbing to have a phone which has hardware start coming apart within short periods of time. My phones were more like PEDOMETERS — not tanks. Just walking around, the screen would clatter against the sides.

I think it’s a beautiful phone, and my favorite out of the Verizon lineup. But I just can’t live with a phone which has such horrible build quality.

It ain’t no tank! It’s a cheaply-built toy. They need to get their build quality up to spec.

I had to return my Mexico-made Storm…folks said I was cutting in and out, and I sounded muffled. Voice mails I left were unintelligible. The replacement Storm made in Canada did not have these issues. It also came Tues of this week with the latest operating system alrady installed. It also did not seem to have inherent bugs that the first Storm had…despite resets and such, problems abounded. This one is working! Also, I am not impressed with their browser. I have been able to do things with a Curve that I can’t do with the Storm browser. I do like the touch screen but that’s just me.

I just go the Storm and this is a very fair review….the keyboard touch screen stinks and nothing is easy with this phone. I’m pressing 3-4 buttons more than I would with another. I’m very disappointed. Its going back.
