I bought the storm and replaced my curve. I am taking it back after 9 days.

It has a weird crappy shape, it is very slow, you can not play video easily (good luck converting anything to play on it anyways).

The phone has a mute button that gets pressed if you try and hold the phone with you shoulder. The browser is terrible, the camera is impossible and confusing, Plus no Wi-Fi.

The key board is useless if you can get it to turn on.

The phone reboots all the time as if is a crappy feature or a really bad joke.

The new headphone set sounds like your underwater, the phone volume is low…ahhh!

I love my gadgets but this is the worst digital device I have ever purchased years behind the technology in the iphone.

Its a sad day for RIM and I WAS a die hard for the black berry products

Got mine from Best Buy after the Verizon store sold out. They got 5 total, only one “on hold”, and nobody was there to pick the phone up. When I was finishing checkout, there was finally a line of like 5 people behind me starting to grow.

Best Buy’s deal was better than the store. $199 with new agreement, no rebate needed, free Bluetooth headset, extra Rewards Zone points.

I don’t buy the “security” issue either. The delivery date for those of us that missed the first shipments has now been pushed to mid-December….

Sounds like Verizon has put it’s foot in it’s mouth….and those who have already purchased a Storm might be in for a long ride.

BG I don’t know if you want to run this as a seperate post or not but Verizon’s also calling people who ordered them online yesterday or today that they won’t be able to get them for about 10-12 more days. The shortages are crazy and I guess the demand is pretty high.

Soooo, the rumors of shortages of Storms is absolutely true….walked in the my Verizon store (1 of about 7 in my city) and they were already sold out, I mean, I literally walked it as the clock struck 8am, but no luck. Was definitely pissed however that I was not previously informed they were running a waiting list, so the Storms they did get were already reserved for other customers. I’ve been waiting for this phone since freakin June and not once did any Verizon ever mention I could get on a waiting list or else I would have been first on it. Whatever, I ordered it to be here next week and they did my rebate immediately so I don’t have to do that mail-in BS…good luck to everyone else. Last minute flaw or not, I’d have to say Verizon dropped the ball on this one, did they not expect it to be a highly coveted item or what? Hello – its the first chance us VZ customers get a phone that rivals the iPhone…shoulda just pushed the release date back or something…this reminds me of the LG Voyager last Fall, they were backordered forever….way to have mastered supply and demand Verizon.

In Chicago, went to local Verizon. Verizon manager said each Chicago store received only 4 phones (except a large downtown store got 8 phones). If you don’t get a phone today you have two options: wait until Tuesday when more arrive (don’t know how many) or buy now and have it shipped to you in 24 hours (by noon Saturday, $20).

im the bbym manager in a large ny/nj/pa market store, return policy is 30days, no restocking fee, yes your upgrade can be reversed, just make sure that when you return the phone the consultant calls it in to have the upgrade reversed, bby has the instant pricing so no MIR. also free bluetooth and 250 bonus reward zone pts with the phone. Depending on the manager their may be deals on accys, thats up to each manager. You will have the storm on sat. Can see the shipments via ups tracking… Most 2nd shipments will be in by noon sat. As a whole bb is only getting like 1/8 of the phones rim prommised. Were not the only ones in this shape, lots of indirects arent getting any and i know the vz corp store in my area is only getting 5 for the first week… I guess its better knowing that your getting a working device then something that is broke….Trust me we are all as fustratted as the customers with this one….

If I buy a Storm from Best Buy tomorrow and am not happy with it , what is the return policy ?? does my NE2 also go back for a future uprade or do I lose it ??? Personally I’d rather get it through the Telesales as he gave me a much bigger deal , an alternate upgrade , and 50% off any accessory I order at the same time as the Storm?? AnY Best Buy people hear to answer these questions ??

Just ordered 2 over the phone for Sat delivery. I also learned that they will not be selling them at full retail in store due to limited supply. only upgrades or new line activations. At least that is what our corp Verizon rep told us.

I work for best buy, most stores got a partial shipment today based off preorders, We are one of the largest stores in our area and only got 10 for tom. These are going to our first 10 on the preorder list. We will be receiving another 30 units overnight and will have them sometime sat morning via ups direct from rim. Yes rim messed up, we are being told that less than 1/3 of the phones that were produced have the final build on them. And the rest need to be re flashed, which is causing the shortage. All our preorders will be filled by sat. We will have minimal units for sale to those who did not preorder. As for the next shipment we have not been given a solid answer. I think i am more po’d then some of the customers.

I got a call from the Best Buy manager, he told me we’re on for tomorrow for my pre-order, and since I was the first to pre-order he told me to come in at 10 when they open.However the price is $199. I ordered through Telesals one for $99 on another line of mine, I just don’t know if the Verizon guys will get it out tilkl next week .What should I do ???

I just left my Verizon store. They got 11. Fortunately I called and talked to the manager a month ago, so I’ve still got one.

He also told one of the other guys that the e-mail he just received said that orders they take tomorrow won’t be processed until the 25th.

Lastly, I checked the build on the demo. It was 4.5.0.61. When I said I was surprised, he told me that they were flashing all of them tomorrow morning before open.

There will be no subsequent shipments. If you don’t get one on Friday then it will have to be d-filled or just wait til next week. Don’t buy into these reports of additional shipments arriving today, friday and saturday. Not gonna happen. If you miss out tomorrow just dfill it and request Saturday shipping. Also, Big Red has authorized ALL Storm purchases to be charged to your account if you so desire!

I reserved my BB Storm @ bestbuy and I just spoke with a mobile rep. and he stated that all is still a go for launch tomorrow. They must have rec’d their reflashed BB Storms. Hope is worth it.

Do you guys suspect that Best Buy has the capability and know-how to re-flash the first few devices that arrive?

TheNext! said his own store would have to re-flash the first few phones that come in.

Assuming I actually secure a phone from Best Buy tomorrow morning, I wonder whether I should head straight to a Verizon store to have them flash it, just in case it has the security flaw.

Just got off the phone with a rep at Best Buy. I had pre-ordered the Storm on 11/8. Got an appointment made for tomorrow at 5 to get the phone. Lucky that I was the 2nd person to preorder becuase they only got 3 phones and 12 pre-orders and they were going by first come – first server on the pre-order list. The rep said she hoped to get more on the truck in the morning.

The Best Buy I work at will only be getting 10 and the majority of all other bay area stores are getting the same amount except for 2 in san fran that are getting 20

i work at a best buy mobile in lonely little moline, il……we are receiving 3 storms friday for launch, there are other stores in our district who are getting 20-30+ units, given most of those stores sold a lot of our $50 pre-orders and we sold a big fat 0. I know we have a lot of demand in our area, and we do have a store about 5 miles away in davenport iowa who are getting i think 11 or 12 in, it just seems like there would have been a lot more available for a big retailer like best buy mobile, especially given our agressive attempts at gaining market share, i havent asked around at any corporate verizon stores to see what they are expecting

All I want is to pick my my Storm tomorrow and you guys including the BG are driving me crazy. So much misinformation. My area manager for Best Buy called to say that he already got in his initial shipments today for tomorrow’s release and I can come get one in the morning.

Most of you misread the Best Buy retraction on the misprint last Sunday to mean they wouldn’t have the Storm until Nov 23rd. That was just
the date of the next BB insert, not the date they were getting the Storm. I saw some of you picked it up, but I don’t know why BG did not know better.

I work at Best Buy, and our system only showed 7 on the way. Seems odd, but that could be true unless they are drop shipped. They should have been in last night though I dont know if they came in. If not, they have today, or Friday morning. Heck we may not even get them. And only 7 would suck, cause I know we have a few pre-ordered.

Guess we’ll see.

I am a Verizon Wireless Retailer and after months of telling us get ready we are gonna get it.and after all the pre orders we have gotten.. Now there telling us we will not be geting any on friday and they dont have any answer when we will get some.
Verizon loves to screw the indirect agents, they did the same thing with the Voyager
