Nokia E71 coming to AT&T as E71x; live and in the flesh

There it is people, looking sexy as ever – we can only hope that the “X” doesn’t stand for “Xtra crippled”. It looks like we’re now pretty close to seeing AT&T formally announce the E71, rebranded as the E71x, as a welcome addition to its smartphone line. The 6650 made it through the AT&T branding process relatively unscathed so we’re hoping the E71 can do the same. In terms of pricing, we’re hearing it should be in the neighborhood of $150 with a 2-year contract but that’s unconfirmed for the time being. So, S60 fans, start your drooling. Hit the jump for two more shots including a close up of the various AT&T apps you can expect.
[Thanks, Todd!]

I checked it out unlocked at radio shack and it is VERY slim and fits very well in hand. Solid Design
What radioshack had this in stock? Can you get me the catalog number? It should be something like 17-xxxx
Thanks
Glad me E71-2 is so much better than this one
and with no bloatware either!
i hope the rf on this is as good or better as nokia on att are mayb i will pick it up instead of a bold!
If any one knows blogs that refer AT&T, and these questions; the type of “best practices” or productivity improvement projects that are actually being installed, the estimated cost of such projects, and their completion times. Please respond.

The last paragraph in a news story about the N97 says “Nokia’s most recent offerings, the N85, N96, and E71, have made very little impact on the North American market, as they were not picked up by any U.S. carriers.”

Is it now known that the E71 is not coming to AT&T?
this isnt possible cuz i was talking to one of the rep and he said he is waiting for it to hit the stores, he says it is coming but not sure when, well at least in dallas,tx.
So what’s the scoop? Are they getting it? I called ATT they don’t know I called two stores and they don’t know…
I have an unlocked e71 and it’s an awesome phone overall. The reviews are right, the camera sucks and the screen isn’t anywhere as nice as the Blackberry Bold. Beyond that it functions flawlessly and has more features than anyone could possibly need. Can you print from a Blackberry? How about create Office documents without paying for extra software?
I don’t need instant everything and just have a voice plan. There’s enough free wifi around so that I can connect a few times throughout the day and get email and browse the web. The savings from not having a data plan pay for the phone in a year or less.
I suppose that AT&T will strip out a lot of features and replace it with their brand of crapola. Personally, I’d tell you to just pony up for an unlocked version.
Another site has a comment saying mid Feb
I want black!!
Ben,
Do you know for a fact that AT&T will treat this as a “smartphone”?
The reason I’m asking is that until now, it seems they have only included Windows Mobile devices in that category. (For other commonly called smartphones, such as BlackBerry, Palm, iPhone, etc) they have separate categories/plans (PDA, iPhone, BlackBerry).
The smartest of all phones out there, the Nokia S60 based ones, are subject only to their standard “dumbphone” charges (e.g. $15/month for unlimited data).
I finally scanned and printed my first version and painted on the print, of course the paint mixed with the ink and gave those strange colors. Please if I can give you anything out of my loss take my word for it, this will diffuse the situation in a second and restore your love back. Guilt in that it claims our voice is illegitimate for some reason and in using our voice or resources is immoral. Just doing this alone will help diffuse negative feelings and tension.Don’t Promise You’re Going To Change Or Swear Things Will Be Different. And the assumption of democracy is that the will of the majority is the most fair way to determine which values will be embedded in our laws.
I am looking forward to buying the E71 Nokia phone. I want the supercool white/stainless one. The last real eye-catching Nokia phone I owned was the 8860 chrome phone. Damn, that phone was so cool back in the day (computerly speaking) Sounds like based on what folks are saying, even though it’s more expensive, it’s better to get the unlocked version period. That way you have Nokia’s original features 100%. I have looked at countless reviews which all give the e71 thumbs all the way up. I was going to get the phone through AT&T since I want to my service through AT&T………but I am taking the advice from most here and getting it unlocked.
Do you know what the variants are between the e63 and the e71x? I currently own the e62 and have for two plus years.
the PDA data plan is $30 not $50
Do u think this version will have the dust under the screen problem like the unlocked version. cus i have the UNLOCKED version and it is AWSOME!!! but like every 3 weeks i have to take the phone apart and clean the dust off the inside screen. Other than that problem this has been the best phone ive had on any network. Nokia, ROCK ON!
when is this phone going to be available for at&t?
shutup loser, nokia s60 kicks iphone’s ass anyday!!
