Why don’t they put stickers on it? I know we hate stickers, but they do tell us what is in the thing, especially the Wacom Penabled Sticker. They should use like a cling or something to show what’s in it but make it easy to take off. If someone has one, check your drivers to see if its Wacom. If it does, I’ll drop $2000+ on a high configuration…
2.4 Ghz Processor

8 GB RAM (That weak graphics card needs all the help it can get)
All other features+Wacom=:)

yea arent atoms for lighter (as in features) form factors? Until they can boost the performance of these tiny cpu’s i’d think they’re best for netbooks and such

Atom processor with Windows Vista is not a very good combination. The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 has that combo and the reviews are mixed. Some saying it is slow. Throw the whole touch interface and the processing required to handle that and I think you would about kill the machine.

I am surprised HP didn’t go with a solid state drive and an intel processor like the atom on this one. It would have increased battery life!

Does anyone know if this uses a wacom digitizer? If so it sounds awesome. If not it’s not worth talking about.
Ps. Wacom sells digitizer so tablet pcs can offer stylus input with 256, 512, and 1024 level sensitivity, just like a wacom cintiq



BrianC, the article says it has a digitizer mode. Do Wacom tablets do something sensing pressure that a regular digitizer doesn’t?

Well the Latitude XT has a trackpoint as well as a trackpad… of course, the XT is quite a bit more expensive than this, but I don’t think the lack of trackpoint is the main reason…

dont you think that’d be a lil overboard to have 3 different inputs? although if you mean replacing the trackpad with trackpoint then sure.

i thought the point of touchscreen in the first place is to replace the other input devices…am i wrong?

Anyone else notice that you only get an estimated 2 hours and 15 minutes of juice with the standard battery? With the only other option being an 8-cell, no dice HP.

I wish it is with a pressure-sensitive screen so that I can use it like the Wacom pen. Don’t care about the multi-touch thing.
Also missing is the TrackPoint. Not a fan of TrackPad.
Anything else is great. HP has been doing great lately. Well done and keep up the good work.

Nice but I bought a Tx2500 back in August. Seeing how that was a huge seller, I don’t doubt this will sell the same way.

I own a HP Pavilion HDX9494NR with the 20.1 inch widescreen (Vista x64) and love it. Its nice when playing games on that big screen. I like the commercial for the Touchsmart desktop. I wonder if HP is going to make a similar commercial. HP seems to be making a lot of good looking PCs. Plus they actually sell their systems with 64 bit drivers which you can’t say much about Dell.
